Time to re-load the MP3 player...

I'm partial to 80's rock for workouts and I need some more ideas - time to expand my horizons. The Theme from Rocky is only gonna take me so far!

Your favorite songs?

Techno, techno, techno...I used to hate it but after a semester in Europe it's all I listen to.
The beats are great and it's very "active" in general....sometimes I want to dance in the middle of my run, but hopefully you have enough self control to avoid that.

Anything that is emotionally motivating works for me…. Yeah The Eye of the Tiger is a good one. But sometimes when the wife makes me mad it’s got to be some rap like Eminem……..“B!tch I wanna kill you….. You don’t wanna mess with me”

Hmm that's a little disturbing.

I like to listen to podcasts, I find they make the time go by quicker than just music.

The Sounds of Silence .

I don't run or bike with music, except for some tunes on the occasional trainer ride. Then, it's just whatever CD is closest (I don't have an iPod or MP3 player or anything), so it could be anything from a mix CD of party music, to all Beatles or something. Most of my CDs are classic rock, so it's usually of that genre.

I find that a great part of almost every runnig mix includes at least a couple of songs by

Moby

(or his alter-ego - Voodoo Child)

in fact, I even have a couple of mixes of nothing but Moby...

the presets
LCD soundsystem

some of these songs just start to take you places. trust me 2 hours into a run and your just getting warmed up!

LMAO

I like old school rap. 2Pac, BIG, Quad City DJ's...east coast and west coast. BUT, I agree techno gets you through it all.  They have some great 80's remix stuff turned techno.  Has anyone heard Duran Duran's new CD?

I haven't heard it. I like a lot of the big European DJs- Bob Sinclar, David Guetta, Fedde le Grand, Alex Gaudino...
Unfortunately my school finally got rid of our peer to peer software so I'm stuck actually buying music

I'm listening to it now. I'd say it's on par with the last one-- good but not great. I really like the single, "Falling Down" and "Nite-Runner" will be a fantastic running track.
