Transition 1
Comments: First triathlon - I was slow - lol. I will work on this. Bike
Comments: I really enjoyed the bike segment. I passed one lady in my AG going up a hill, and that is where I secured the lead in my AG. I will say the last five miles I was hit with emotion - it was funny. I thought about everyone giving me pointers...my husband's support...I was actually crying the last few miles. What would you do differently?: As "Coach Todd" says...more hills. Transition 2
Comments: Same with T1 - This is all new to me - I was slow. Run
Comments: SHOCK, SHOCK, SHOCK - I actually passed people on the run! Two people passed me....but I passed maybe four or five? I couldn't beleive that. What would you do differently?: Prepared better...I did the best I could with the seven weeks I had! Post race
Warm down: Walk around - eat 1/2 a banana. Event comments: I was TRULY SHOCKED to see that I placed 1st in my AG. Of course, studying it afterwards, I secured this by passing the two ladies in my AG in front of me on the bike. I got a little trophy too! :) I think I can honestly say that because Jim did such a great job putting together this event, and because I had a great experience...it hooked me into triathons... ***I am going back months later (today is 1/6) and completing this information, as I do remember most of it, and think someday I may want to reflect.***
This was my very first triathlon. I got on a bike, and in the pool for the first time in over 20 years about 7 weeks before the triathlon, so I was not adequately prepared, but it was in my city...so I took that as my "sign" to do it.
I could not sleep the night before, and woke up way too early - probably about 4:30am. I got ready and was at the site about 6am. I set up transition, got my chip, and went to the bathroom probably about four times between 6 and 8am.
Ummm...nothing but walk around, and talked to Duke and other member of the ETT team.
