I love this watch for my everyday training. I have had no issues for either running or biking (w/speed and cadence sensors) training sessions. The only issue I have with this device is that if Garmin Express isn't working (fairly regular issue) there isn't a way to manually transfer data. The interface Garmin made to transfer via ANT+ is terrible.

All around solid piece of equipment for training and racing. Bought another one so that's a pretty good endorsement of the product. Does everything I need it to do.

If you can find a good deal on this watch, it's worth it. Otherwise, check out Garmin's newer products.

I bit the bullet and bought a 910 -- then lost it. My boyfriend got me the 310 as a replacement. I love it. I had issues with the swim features of the 910 anyway, so this one is perfect for me. And it's compatible with the HR monitor and cadence sensor I had got for the 910.

This watch has done everything I expected it to. It has taken some time to learn how to navigate the various settings. I have found the custom workout settings to be a helpful part of my training routine.

A fantastic training aid, and very motivating. The HRM is soft and comfortable. Great feedback, very accurate, and actually fun. The customizable screens give your mind something to do on those long workouts. Worth the money.

Awesome training tool. Light, long battery life, all the metrics you need. You might be a bit poorer but I you won't be disappointed.

I have never been dissatisfied with Garmin. I sell their products in my store and will not let this one isolated incident of a defective unit ruin my love of the product.

I love the 20 hour battery. And I love that you can take it in the water. At IMCdA in 2010 I had the awesome experience of using it for the entire race...11 hours and 6 minutes...and it wasn't even half way run down at the end!

I also own the Forerunner 405. The touch bezel was a pretty cool idea until you had to use it with wet fingers. I was tired of switching watches so I broke down and decided to get the 310xt. I'm loving it so far. Now, I can use one watch for everything. This is a good tool for the modern triathlete. As of 2/2011---Things were going great until the watch fell out of my gym bag and the display cracked. Beware that this damage IS NOT COVERED under warranty and it will cost $100 for a replacement!!!

overall a great little toy for a triathlete. It is great that it is waterproof so you can just wear it from start to finish during a race. Also while racing with the touch of one button you can switch from swim to t1 to bike t2 to run and end. Then it is very easy to just plug it into the computer and look at all the data. Overall very very happy with this product I recommend it.

I've used the Forerunner 110 and loved it but I couldn't use it in the water. The 310XT blows the 110 away in everything. My favorite feature is the virtual partner!
