  • Comments: As I was leaving I saw the last guy heading out of T2. Right by the exit there was a water station for me as I went through but nobody was holding water for this guy. There was a volunteer there but he was busy talking to another racer. I felt that the volunteers didn't care too much about the later finishers because they also were packing up the other water stations on the run.

  • Comments: This is a good race and a good, fast course. Lots of speedys showed up today. I was really surprised to see where I finished overall and in my age group. Much lower than expected with the time I put up. Oh well, it was a 2 minute PR for me and that's all that really matters

  • Comments: Despite the cramping setback I managed to PR. I beat my first Oly time by over nine minutes. Training for my half-IM in 2 weeks has gotten me in much better shape. I was hardly even sore the next day :)

  • Comments: Nice goodies - dry fit shirt & socks. Not enough water bottles for all racers. A bit short on volunteers. Water on course was warm - a little ice to cool it down would have been good in the heat.

  • Overall course based on my ability: Too hard

  • Comments: Considering it was my first race - i think I was alittle out of my BOX on this one, and my boyfriend who was so worried I didn't train enough.. (he's a marathon runner & know's tons about tri's) was a little worried I wouldn't finish or it might be a little out of my league. I would train harder and for the WHOLE 5 months... I've changed so much. Now doing a 1/2 marathon in Nov (my first) I've STUCK to the training plan - my body weight I can tell a difference, My legs are a lot more tone and I'm starting to get that Athletic body I've always wanted! Triathlons have changed my life - it's totally a life style for me - I'm doing a sprint on Oct 8th (This sunday) I will post the results, can't wait to compare to how fast I have ran! I can't wait!!!

  • Comments: It was my first oly and I told everyone "I just wanna finish." But the fact is I really wanted to do better than 3:08:56. I need to keep my eyes open a bit better on the swim, try harder during the race and for crying out loud get my ass off the couch and train more! Chicago is in 10 days so it's time to put up or shut up.
