  • Comments: Not the race I was hoping for, but probably an accurate depiction of where I am right now. Seven and a half minute drop off from last year's time - at least at the slower paces my HR was lower than it was last year - maybe I pushed harder last year - I'm not sure. I still had a great time as I love this race, but it was a little disheartening to know what an uphill battle I still face to get back to where I was a year ago. I will need to focus a lot on swimming in between Deuces and Alcatraz, and really need to work the running a little harder. The bike is thisclose - just need to keep working at it, but will need to sacrifice a little to get the swim and run where they need to be for my races later in the season.

  • Comments: Love the Tribal Sprint. The staff is awesome, the venue is great, the course is challenging, and the entertainment value is excellent. Wish traffic was a bit lighter leaving, but you cannot have it all, can you?

  • Comments: Good race. Only downfall is not having enough volunteers to point out extreme course turns on the bike and run. Also, they gave out pint glasses for each finisher, but of course a few got broken in T1. Not great for people walking around or in flip-flops, or where there are a lot of bikes. Really like the pint glasses, but they should be boxed, wrapped or given at registration (and hand out the t-shirt at the finish, like a finisher's shirt). Also, it would be really nice to have chip timing. Will likely do this race next year.

  • Comments: This was definately the best race I've been to so far! Very organized, more than enough volunteers, and had a great raffle afterwards. Met some real good people today and went solo today, so Todd(phxphotg) cheering me on at every corner helped me alot! Was smiling the whole time either inwardly or outwardly! I love this sport! Great people, great enviroment, and a positive community!

  • Comments: This is a fantastic event, and always one of my favorite races of the year. It is well organized, well supported, fun, and in a beautiful and challenging venue. Overall, I am really happy with the race. Despite the issues on the swim, I raced well from start to finish, which was what I wanted to accomplish. I had mmy best run ever in an event, and my mental effort level was by far my best. I felt focused from the beginning to the end, and I never let up. This is definitely one to build on.

  • Comments: It felt like a PR, but it turns out, Tempe International was my best overall. Hmm...

  • Comments: I loved everything about this race. I love the site, the course, the distances, and the organization. DCB and Tribe did a fantastic job. It was well organized last year, with a couple of logitical issues with being a point to point race. They fixed them this year by having the swim, T1, parking, and the finish at the same place and transporting the bikes and transition bags back to the start after the race. I don't think I have ever had so much fun at a race. It was a beautiful day, a great race, and great company, at a place that is comfortable and familiar to me. As often as I train there, I almost felt like a host. I realized a couple of weeks ago that for every hour that I spend on a course, I train for about 20 hours. That made me realize how special race days are and how much work goes into them. They are rewards to be enjoyed and savored. I took that to heart for this race and enjoyed every minute - okay, I didn't enjoy the snake encounter, but everything else I did.

  • Comments: Last time I ran a TT 2:18 Swim 29min, T1 5min, Bike 58min, T2 3min and Run 42 w/13.54 min mile This year TT 2:15 Swim 25.40, T1 4.20min Bike 56.12min, T2 1.28min & Run 47.23 w/ 13.1min mile. Thought the run course was longer and the T1 was futher out of the water i felt pretty good and was happy with the times...

  • Comments: Despite very difficult logistics (separate parking areas, start/T1, T2, and finish area), the oragnizers did a very good job. There were a lot of volunteers, and they were very helpful. The announcements were freqent and clear. And the course...oh, man, the course. It is called a 'sprint', but it was much more than that. Overall, I think this one may have been harder than the Soma 1/4. I learned in this race that a) I can swim in open water, and b) I need to train to be stronger under adverse conditions. Overall, it was a great course and a great race. I will be back next year, and I think I'll be going back to the lake to train on a regular basis. If I can get better on this course, it will make my other events that much easier.

  • Comments: This is a highly reccomended race in my book. The organized has it together. Logistically there is room for improvement (The captive audience factor during the awards was a bit of a dirty trick, and better planning for shuttle busses would have been good.) But the volunteers and aid in getting out stuff after the race was phenomenal.

  • Comments: Bike course was obscene and the trail run was unnecessary and the fact that there was another mile at the end of the race fucking sucked. But I am happy with my performance overall.
