  • Comments: This was my 2nd triathlon ever so I made plenty of mistakes. I also had a 3-week hiatus from training which really hurt me. The staff and volunteers were all very helpful and friendly. It was a good first race of the year. Next time I'll be more prepared for cold water~

  • Comments: Goals going into this race were primarily to have fun, secondly to see how the run was coming. Those goals were met with spades therefore it was a successful race. This was a good reminder that just because it is a sprint it doesn't mean it's easy. I've been in such a distance mind set all last year that I forgot how challenging it is to try and go fast! I know I'll never see a podium due to my lack of run speed but I've made huge improvements in my running over the years so I'll continue to work and keep having a good time.

  • Comments: I really like this race. FS did a very nice job- very well organized. I like the lake a lot, the bike course is challenging but nice and the run is the same. I am really glad that the results were up quickly this time but a pity the overall results are messed up (they haven't subtracted out the start times yet) and there are no rankings for the SBR parts relative to others. Hopefully they will sort that out. Turns out that 40s is what separated me from #19 and #12 overall, so that wasted time actually cost me quite a few places in the standings. Turns out I came in 2nd in my age group- about 80 seconds slower than #1. So fun to place. My brain was frazzled before this race so I am not surprised at the lack of clarity in decision-making. Just lots going on at work and at home with Ryan getting sick on Fri night. For Kure Beach I am just ditching the garmin and am going to stop overthinking all this. Turns out that 40s separated me from 19th to 12th place. Sucks to have basically

  • Comments: Love the new timing system with the automatic results. The posted results online (right now) are kind of messed up. But I know FS will fix them asap. FS is awesome! I love their races!!!

  • Comments: Really liked this race- the ease of getting there and how simple these little local races are. I am frustrated by the time-wasting issues listed above but that is what you get sometimes. I am very happy with the effort on the run to finish fast. Swim was OK, bike was OK and run was good. Nice to see some familar faces out there.

  • Comments: Very good day for me. I needed to have a day like this. I kept thinking 'I have no idea why I signed up for this race' I just needed to get back into the triathlon mindset and figured doing a sprint might be the best way to get there. Good Idea and Well Done! The visualization of the swim and having Lisa there to start with made a huge difference for me. I was ready for the water when the time came. 26 out of 73 women overall Swim 49 of 73 Bike 19 of 73 Run 17 of 73

  • Comments: Had to leave early, and was told I'd won my age group(since Marty Gaal was 2nd overall), but apparently I got 2nd. Good overall race, still have a lot to improve, but happy with the overall result.

  • Comments: i think the road conditions could be improved, but that is hard to do on Avent Ferry Rd. Also there was some lack in direction for the "sidewalk" run uphils- there was also other prior race directions posted in chalk on the course which could have deterred some.

  • Comments: Finish Strong did a great job and so did the ZTA sisters. FS has a good web site as well. The road conditions were a bit rough on Avent Ferry. Overall, a great job by everyone and I was pleased with how helpful everyone was!

  • Comments: It was a good race. The road was really crappy. At least one person got the dreaded double flat tires. It was organized well enough. It was nice to have the staggered start but it ended up being a really long time to just stand in a wetsuit cold. But, the volunteers were nice.. everything was organized as I expected.. the ankle straps that were provided were neoprene which was nice.. but they felt like they were coming off a few times. Also running up a hill out of the lake kinda sucked. I blame most of the problems on my own physical abilites.

  • Comments: It was a nice race. I don't know if I would do it again though - the road conditions were pretty rough but all in all, FSSeries did a good job of putting everything together.

  • Comments: I think this was their first tri; they did a great job considering the weather. This was my 2nd tri, but first road one; I did the Xterra Sport last year. I expected a road tri to be much easier, and it was, by far. But only relatively.
