  • Comments: I met some great folks at the beer tent and we ended up swimming another mile in the lake afterward. Not my best decision making being by myself but hey, no one died :)

  • Comments: After reading the race reports from last year, I think this year was probably a marked improvement. It was my first race, but I think it felt very well organized and there were plenty of aid stations on the run. Hurray!

  • Comments: Didn't make it over to the post-race party--wish there had been food at the finish. Having the party and the finish in separate spots made for a rather sad finish area. Ice tubs and water towels were great, tho. No finish medals, either, but I MUCH prefer the snazzy (and useful!) back-pack we got in the registration packet to a medal that will only gather dust. Would have been nice if there'd been a course talk, although the race was well-enough organized and routes clearly marked that it wasn't a big problem. Overall, I had a great time, even if I didn't do so well. Gotta remember that mixed races will always pull a different crowd than the women-only events, and that it's not likely that I'll beat a male half my age. :)

  • Comments: It was fun but not a mindblowing race. I was in the last wave so that meant I was close to last to finish so I felt like I was just by myself on the course the whole time. I can't wait for the Bang's Lake women's sprint- I really enjoy biking on terrain that necessitates changing gears and provides more of a mental challenge.

  • Comments: Ram racing continues to put on great races. Not their decision to set the swim in too shallow water. Did not feel crowded at all. Transition was well put together. Bike chute not that great as you had to go all the way past transition and then in. A little long. Great after race food and band.

  • Comments: I had a good time and felt good today. I would do this again but would not expect much. There was no info in the race packet. No mention of the chip on the web site. There were no signs in the transition about where to set up bikes (luckily I was on the end and used my swim cap as something to spot.) The race number for the bike was not waterproof and many disintegrated. Mine never even made it to the bike portion of the race! Swim was WAY short and we didn't know ahead of time that it would be so shallow. Seems they knew it would be as afterward on the racing company's facebook they said it had to be short since there was a kid's race. Would have been nice to know this ahead of time when you're paying $100 or whatever for a race. No water/Gatorade on the run course (other than right at the start when you left T2) due to a misplaced table (yeah that table I saw while running was apparently set up on the wrong side) and I would have loved some mile markers on the run.

  • Comments: The organization and communication was a disaster. There were volunteers and some were helpful but others had no idea what was going on. I didn't hear of an awards ceremony or annoucement on winning time. Post-race food only consisted of a banana and bagel unless I missed a table somewhere. They messed up posting my times on the site and they are still not accurate. I emailed them and shockingly received a reply with my actual times. I didn't break out my rankings for swimming, biking, and running because I couldn't sort by category on the race results webpage.

  • Comments: Good race. Might do it again next year. Swim is goofy but hey, what can you do. THe rain really made it tough but they still got us out and only a little late. Overall a fun race.

  • Comments: I like RAM but they really dropped the ball on this one. Yes it rained but really, no friggin water stations on the run course! And no medal at the end. (Just kidding that is no big deal) The swim course was definitely smaller than advertised which they should have announced. And they had no announcements of waves, just some guy shouting out to the hundreds of people gathered. This is funny story. NOW. I asked someone at the information booth if there was a Gear Check. The girl said, "Yes. It is in the transition area. By your bike!" Thanks wise ass!!! But now it is kinda funny!!!

  • Comments: Overall a fun experience. Hundreds of competitors. However, the swim leg was not really a swim. The course was in very shallow water so that running in the water was more effective than swimming for most people. The bike leg was also shortened from the original advertised distance. When you pay more than $100 you should get a real swim leg. Nevertheless, the course and setting were scenic and the race was otherwise well organized and provided a competitive and fun atmosphere.
