  • Comments: This was a great event - very well organized, and I felt very well-taken care of. I also think its the toughest race I've done so far. The bike in Pumpkinman is harder, but considering the swim is longer in this race, the long run to T1 and the tough run course, this race is harder overall. I like that they didn't make it an easier race just because its a women-only race. I will definitely do this race every year.

  • Comments: Fun well organized race, challenging course. THe ladies in the try were awesome and supportive of each other it almost made it feel like a group effort. Pending personal schedule I will definitely be back next year.

  • Comments: This was the most challenging course I've ever done. My goal was to finish in 2 hours, and my finish time was 2:02:33. Given my chain mishap and the wind, I'll take the 2:02 with a smile on my face. The Iron Girl races are extremely well-organized, and I look forward to doing it again next year! :)

  • Comments: Athleta took over this instead of Aflac. Swag was eh. I got a bandage box. For real. It was really dumb to have $500 gift card from a company that scams you. RedStarGift card. Expo was smaller. Getting registration, transition area, finish area is well run. Post Race food - Lots of food, but did not feel good to eat them. I should have hoarded them and bring them home! Finisher's Medal is nice, and it's nice to have the Host city printed on the Ribbon! (Last year, everyone who did IronGirl, even Duathons got the exact same thing, no matter what city it was in). Would still recommend this to other people and will do it again next year. :-) Looking forward to CRRRRRUUUUUSH my times.

  • Comments: The race started a half-hour late which sucks cause it was soo cold standing out there waiting. I was expecting to do a lot worse cause I didnt feel prepared. I now have a starting point to improve on for the rest of the year.

  • Comments: Wouldn't do that course again - just wasn't a pleasant course considering the travel involved. Irongirl did a nice job, but didn't enjoy a 30 minute late start standing on cold sand.

  • Comments: Great first race. I would do this one again next year. Overall, I'm happy because I performed about how I thought I would. My goal for this race was to complete, not to compete, and I did that. Had fun, no pressure. And now I can say that I'm a triathlete.

  • Comments: It's definitely perfect for first-timer. There was a LOT of first-timers so it was perfect pick for an easy paced triathlon. There was no real competition between each other, we all cheered on to one another. I thanked ALL the police that was manning the intersections, it made me feel so much better. I thanked a lot of the volunteers as well and cheered on those that was going on slow (many were using mountain bikes and I knew that they would be very slow).

  • Comments: A much better job this year than last! Race went off on time, and the course was well-marked. Not a huge fan of the desert run, but it's part of racing at Lake Las Vegas. Still love the host hotel. Gorgeous swim. Nice job improving the post-race buffet and awards ceremony. Would have loved to have had a bigger Expo and maybe a race t-shirt with the actual race and not just the generic Iron Girl logo, but that's just being nit-picky.

  • Comments: I thought everything was very well organized, I didn't have any problems and would like to congratulate the organizers on a job well done. I really thought it was a great all round experience. being an all womens event it definitely had a different vibe then that of a normal tri, I think. It was a great way to break into triathlons and I look forward to doing many more in the up coming months and years. The course was tough, but given the terrain around the venue, I think any route they chose would have been very difficult, it's a mountainous area and you can't change the topography of the site. :)

  • Comments: They really need to provide more info about the course - very scant info and little in terms of individual reports from the one prior year. Info from organizers glossed over challenges of course. I would have been a great course if I would have known what to anticipate and had trained to meet that expectation.

  • Comments: Overall I'm pleased with my race. Last year it was hard to focus on my weaknesses because everything needed work. This was my first event, second season, and perfect for eyeballing what I did well and what needs some attention. Mental toughness and hanging on to the run are at the top of the list. I've also learned that when there's wind or adverse weather conditions, I have to reset my expectations and be happy with what I accomplish. My paces seem slow but I know I did my best and feel good about that. Some memorable moments from this event: . I was about 50 yards from the finish line and running on an empty tank. Out of nowhere this woman passes me and she has a "58" marked on her calf. My age group. Where the heck did she come from? I never saw her the whole race. My husband said he spotted me about that time and saw the look on my face change from "thank God this is almost over" to "no way in hell are you taking this from me." This was a long ugly race and I wasn't
