  • Comments: Crowd was wonderful as usual...I am disappointed that I did not qualify for Boston but I'm proud to say I finished even with the 2 issues. I caught the pace group about Mile 12 like I planned and eased up to the point pretty well. Didn't like staying behind the group because at the water stops it was a terrible mess, so I got slightly ahead of them at about Mile 14 or 15 and was pully away.....maybe that was a mistake, anyway, I was on a 3:20 pace until Mile 22 or so..I think I can do this Boston thing. The weather conditions were not perfect but they weren't tooo terribly bad. The last 3 miles were brutal though because they were straight into the wind. I still hate that bridge going into the finish area..but hey it is a great course and event...I hope this was entertaining..I have to chuckle myself at some of things that happened...As usual the fans were awesome!!Thanks everyone who was cheering!! Elvis was pretty cool and the most important thing I remembered Chinatown this time...I

  • Comments: Just last march 2006, I could not run two miles straight without stopping. Today I ran 26.2. I feel awesome. Also have even greater respect for the Ironman- still seems unattainable,... but a little bit closer then before.

  • Comments: This is an awesome event! Everything from the volunteers, to the race staff, to the citizens of Chicago were great! I would highly recommend this race to anyone who wants to do a marathon. Next year its going to be on 10/7/07. The only critisism that I have for the race is the check-in, packet pickup process and expo. Those are held at a site different than the race so if you don't know the city and some of the different venues, you may not realize that. Its not really well documented in the paperwork that its at a completely different site and that it is actually miles away from the race site.

  • Comments: i highly recommend wearing an obnoxious green shirt with TRIXIE printed across the chest. it appears that it is more fun to yell trixie than common names because 723,819 people outta the estimated 2 million spectators yelled my name:) YEA TRIXIE:)

  • Comments: Huge numbers of runners and spectators. Crowds EVERYWHERE. Not for the claustrophobic or folks that like fresh air and country breezes. It's an industrial strength crowd from 6AM to 3PM. Plenty of volunteers, and the fan support was phenomenal. Run with Trixie if possible. :)

  • Comments: This is a good event, in terms of the flatness of the course and the crowd support. But, all of the runners make it tough to run on pace. I was constantly weaving in and out of running traffic. Also, if you have a sensitive stomach while running, the trips through the various neighborhoods can be a little tough to take...especially the beer smell around mile 21 or so. UGH!
