  • Comments: RedRock usually does a great job. This year for some reason they seemed to have a really hard time nailing down the course. I really like SOMA, both the half and now Quarterman...It's a great season ender for me.

  • Comments: The organizers did a fantastic job with the race, with a couple of exceptions. I would have liked to see more buoys on the swim course. However, this is a personal preference and not a necessity (more importantly, perhaps, I would like to be less dependent on the buoys being there!). Also, the bike course was a little confusing to some. I am probably nit picking here. Soma is peropbably the best organized, best supported race in which I have participated, and it will be a staple in my race schedule. I am already planning to sign up for the half ironman race next year. With proper training, I will be ready. Despite a lot of this report, the race was not all bad for me if I put things in perspective. Overall, I finished a half hour faster than I did last year. I also finished much higher in the field than I did last year. Looked at that way, I have improved a lot overall in a year. However, I am disappointed in some specifics. Soma is my big race, the one that I want to do

  • Comments: Great race - some confusion with regard to mileage on the bike, but overall SOMA ranks high on my list of favorite events. Great job Red Rock Co.

  • Comments: I was very pleased with the race. Despite the miscommunication regarding the bike course and swim caps I really enjoyed this race. This is only my third triathlon and first at this distance. It was quite a challenge and feel that I earned my medal big time. I would love to be faster and hopefull some day I will. It was great to see all of my ESCKTC members out there. I missed the award ceremony and buffet. Congratulations to all that competed.

  • Comments: This race was awesome and I'd love to do my first HIM here. On a personal note, I was happy with how the race went. I think I can improve at this distance, esp on the swim. The results were Overall 103/594, Female 19/240, AG 5/45.

  • Comments: AWESOME RACE! Red Rock always pulls it off. If you are reading this please post my PBR results though MMM-MAY? I had so much fun from start to finish. Acknoweledgements: Robot - My amazing husband who soldiered through and completed his first HIM! WAHOO! But just as importantly still did all the husbandly things like carrying my stuff and putting away my bike and filling up my drink bottles! :) OH and for taking your time to always stop and say HI to me on the course (4 times!) Means so much! 143! Chris - AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME friend. Despite being crapped on you still showed up and did us PROUD! Best jockstrapper ever! Helped each and every one of us by offering to carry things, cheering us on, walking, etc. It's nice to have someone who cares about everyone from the first finisher to the last. It was hot and nasty and you never once complained. Hope to repay the favor sometime buddy! You really started my entire day off right by seeing you before the swim! Sally

  • Comments: This is the 5th annual running of this race. I just don't understand how they can't have some stuff just figured out. Race cap colors. Distances. Swim course. Updated website that is accurate. In spite of all that, the race is well organized. Plenty of aid and water stations. Great volunteers.

  • Comments: I didn't see any fellow BTer's postrace (except Sally - who finished on my heels) because of an error. I milled around awhile and then decided to get my stuff and change clothes. Well, dumb me, I took my bike out of transition when I went to my car. Now what am I going to do with it? Realizing my mistake, I decided to head off. Please excuse my lack of support - I am sorry.

  • Comments: Wow, from them threatening me to kick me out for complaining to advertising and then announcing the wrong wave starts in addition to droppin pre-function good time events from their announcement, I was wondering if the race director even knew what day the race was supposed to be on when it was all said and done. That said, I still had at least one and perhaps 2 PR (Bike and maybe sswim) so I am happy I stuck it out.
