  • Comments: I couldn't have had a better first race. I began with a set of simple goals: 1. To finish. 2. To finish under 2 hours, barring any problems. 3. To fully participate in each sport the entire time; in other words, not to use a swim angel, not to walk the bike, not to walk on the run. and 4. To have a great experience that would encourage me to continue. I'm thrilled to say I met or exceeded each goal. Not only did I finish, I did so in a full 18 minutes under the 2-hour goal! I didn't need to resort to swim angels, bike walking, or run walking. The training paid off. And I felt so proud at the end, and had such a good time seeing and meeting other triathletes and BTers, that I will definitely continue. This was a great first time out!

  • Comments: This is hands down the most I have ever expected and gained from myself. I will never forget what it feels like to exceed my own expectations - and be more than I thought I was.

  • Comments: It was a great event with over 2000 women. I believe I performed poorly, but overall still a wonderful experience. The exciting thing was that I was directed to go out with the elite wave, (first)! They wanted the Team Danskin coaches and workout leaders to get back to cheer on the team. I felt like a movie star leaving with the elites!! The timing folks messed up my timing because of the wave change. It should be getting fixed. Until then I don't have splits. I think I did the race in 2 hours. Getting off the bike to walk it up those two hills killed my time. (well that and being S-L-O-W in all the events had something to do with it). The good news is...I have plenty of room for improvement!!

  • Comments: A great day. I had a personal goal and I missed it by 10 seconds... But overall I am very happy!

  • Comments: It's a very, very, very big race. 2100 registered people (not all of whom were timed) and 1500 of them were first-time triathletes.

  • Comments: This race was a wonderful first-time introduction to racing tri. The course was challenging, without being ridiculously difficult. I was disappointed to see no race personnel on the course. I constantly saw women crossing the middle yellow line, holding up cars, ignorning "car back" and putting themselves in the line of traffic, and wearing headphones!! Volunteer support and race directors explained everything clearly. The female comeraderie was so, so encouraging! I will definitely do this race again!

  • Comments: There were parts of the organization I really didn't like. Not nearly enough porta-potties, lax security in the transition area (no one ever checked if I belonged to my bike when I left), and a bike/run course that overlapped without any clear demarkation between the run and bike lanes. Also, the run pattern was odd because I had to cross the oncoming stream of runners twice during the course to take the right turns. Otherwise, it was a fine race. Not sure I'll do it again, but a good event to have done at least once.
