  • Comments: Considering the rainy conditions, the organizers did a good job of managing this event. The only thing I think they could've done to help us with the conditions was put mats at the exit/entrances in transition as that part got real muddy. I'll probably come back next year to see if I can try it in different conditions.

  • Comments: I have a knew found appreciation for triathletes. I was very happy just to finish. I am not sure that I will do another race but I was glad I tried this. The weather just made the race a nightmare.

  • Comments: Kinetic is one of the best. I plan on being there again next year. The staff was helpful and nice. They tried to make that best of the fact it did nothing but pour the whole race. Many thanks to them for volunteering to be there and put on an event for us even when it is uncomfortable.

  • Comments: I want to get revenge on this course, I think I should have been able to do a 1:35 this year, and know if I was healthy on the run and without the long swim I could hit it.. I think this is a great first tri to see how effective off season training was.. and renting the house with others and cheering on the half was a blast.. see you next year Kinetic

  • Comments: I think the water was just too cold for me to perform well. Not sure if I'd repeat this race. Funniest thing I heard: on the run "I think I'm getting swimmer's ear." Funniest thing I saw: a mile or so into the run: a woman running around a puddle. As if that mattered by then!

  • Comments: Due to rain, no post race activities, canceled awards ceremony, and everyone was very crowded getting food. Not organizers' fault really, was a weather issue.

  • Comments: Excellent course, excellent race. Will do it, or the half every year. 2nd place in ag makes me very happy, even though it says much more about the competition than my performance. 63 women registered so I knew from before the start that it would take lots of luck to place in the ag, but I guess I was sufficiently lucky - and raced hard enough too :)

  • Comments: Awards ceremony cancelled due to risk of hypothermia for athletes. Free pasta, rolls and salad for athletes. I usually can't eat the other stuff that is at these events because my stomach can't handle it. This was easier. All in all, I had a GREAT time! I'd like to do this race again. I really felt for the volunteers though. At least we were out there warmed up. They were cold, soaked, and freezing! I always try to say thank you when I pass.

  • Comments: Fifth place sucks; not good enough to podium, but close enough to know that I should have podiumed! Oh well, it was the first race of the season, it was a much bigger field than anticipated, and it will hopefully serve as motivation to train harder!!

  • Comments: Everything was well organized for the race, and I liked the course a lot. The post-race food could have been better organized. Plenty of drinks, but apparently there were oranges and bananas somewhere, but I never saw them. And a grilled sausage from a vendor wasn't exactly what I was in the mood for. But overall I enjoyed myself and will definitely do this race again next year. Hopefully Nathalie and I will both stay healthy the week before and both do this one next time.

  • Comments: I continue to feel better about this each day, but it still makes me sick to look at the results and see my swim rank. 332 men overall. My bike was 44th, my run was 15th. My swim? 226th. That just blows. And it makes me sick to see it.

  • Comments: I beat last year's time by almost 20 minutes. I still have lots of room to improve. If I can knock 5 minutes off the swim, 2 minutes off transition, 3 minutes off the bike and 5 minutes off the run I would get to the top third. I love this race (10am start)...Wait till next year.

  • Comments: Since I've never done a tri before, I don't have anything to compare it to - but I thought it was great. I think this is a good race for beginners. I really enjoyed my first time out and hope to be back for another one. This time I'll even train properly!

  • Comments: First the AWESOME stuff - the music and announceer were spectacular, and deserve a big congratulations. The whole atmosphere was fun and exciting, and I think this was probably one of my best racing venues yet. The kids had lots to do as well, playing on the beach before and after the start, as well as on a very nice playground right in the race village. Also, indoor flushing bathrooms was a refreshing change for a triathlon! Regina and I are toying with making a weekend of it next year; I'll do the half on Saturday, and she'll do the sprint on Sunday. What Fun! Critiques - few and far between: I think the road from the transition to where the runners turn down the road (around mile 1) should be closed to traffic. There were several close calls as bikes were flying into transition, only to have runners on their left and a car crawling/stuck in traffic dead ahead. Not a good scenerio. The other suggestion would be to have more food choices - racers had NO after-race food (only

  • Comments: I was pleased with my race for being my first. I performed to my experience and abilities. Setup Events: I didn't even know they had Bananas, and oranges until the awards ceremony. No signs, nothing. They had some hot dog and hamburger vendors, that were charging money for the food. The kind lady taking money did give me a free hot dog, so I have to give them that. In some children's swimming pools, there were Gatorade and water bottles. The vehicle traffic was out of control sometimes. My spectator friend told me of a mini-van that ran someone off the road ruining his tire, he gave him a ride back to the start. The ending of the run, was so crooked and curvy, you couldn't sprint at all to the finish. Why did the race start the bike going uphill? Oh well, I guess they did the best with what they had?
