  • Comments: This was my third triathlon and fifth multi-sport event. It was easily the most enjoyable race I've done so far. I was hesitant to do it because some of the other BT race reviews weren't too keen on the (bumpy) road conditions for the bike leg. I also wasn't sure about swimming in the San Francisco Bay. In both cases, my worries were unfounded. I was extremely comfortable throughout the entire event, and I'm glad I did it. This would have been a good first triathlon for me if it had been held earlier in the season. I loved the cool weather. http://stevendellago.blogspot.com/2011/07/splash-dash-and-bliss-dan...

  • Comments: Good race - everything about it was well organized - except the lack of an aid station on the run. Normally would not have bothered me... but today I needed it and it wasn't there.

  • Comments: I did the sprint here as it was the first triathlon i ever did in 2008 (it was later in the year, november last year I think) so thought it would be fun to finally be able to compare a race from last year to this year. I dropped 11 minutes off my time from last year and, more importantly, got onto my first podium at my 6th triathlon, which I was very happy about.

  • Comments: This race was a great race if you are a beginner and definitely challenging. Flat course with some potholes on the bike so be careful and run was scenic and beautiful. I really enjoyed this run.

  • Comments: wow...I am hooked! Had a terrible swim, but really only started swimming 6-7 weeks before the event, and have a pretty deep rooted fear of open water, so was pretty panicky, but made up for it with good bike/run legs!

  • Comments: Good race, good volunteers, well staffed and well run. It's a good event. I would like to do it again next year but I think they're moving the date from Nov to July which is too bad, there are a lot of races around here in July.

  • Comments: My only experiences with triathlons are this one and one I volunteered at a couple months ago. This one definitely seemed better organized than the other one. The organizers handled the last-minute swim cancelation very well and did a good job of keeping everyone excited and motivated, I think. Overall, it was a really, really great time. I can hardly wait for my first *real* tri next year.

  • Comments: Good organization. Crappy road conditions for the bike. Crit-style course means adjusting some tactics and even equipment (use a road bike). But, overall, in a pretty setting by the Bay.

  • Comments: I really was undertrained. I have only been training "full time" since October 10th (or 9th?) and I feel really good about my performance in the face of that. Looking forward to a lot more training and practice!!!
