  • Comments: This was a well organized event. But a bit of a weird one. Because it was a pool swim, they did waves of 12. Which means that waves were going off basically from 7:15 to 12:30. So as I was packing up and leaving, new people were parking and getting ready to go set up their transition area. Surprisingly stiff competition for such a small local race. The winners put up some pretty impressive times. The cool part is I won the Clydesdale division (a first for me). The not as cool part was that they gave free entries to all the AG winners, but excluded Clydesdale/Athena. What the heck is up with that?

  • Comments: This was my first ever triathlon and I loved it! There were lots of volunteers and cops stationed on the bike portion. I recommend this race to everyone. I really had a great time!

  • Overall course based on my ability:

  • Comments: Pretty sure the guy who came in second (who started in my wave of 12 ppl), cut the run course. I saw him in T2 so he was about 1min ahead of me. Next time I see him was him on his way back and me on my way out. My watch said 8min. Took me ~11 to the turn-around, that means he put 5min into me in the first half of the run, but only 1min on the back half. Doesn't add up. Plus the volunteer at the t/a told me I was in first place. He would have beaten me anyways, but it's just annoying that they didn't have a mat at the t/a point.

  • Comments: I enjoyed this race, but didn't like the number of waves. People were still arriving as I was packing up to go home, and people were wandering around race areas while the race was underway. Still, it was close to home, very well supported, and a lot of fun. Considering I didn't taper at all (in the three day before the race I had 5.5 hours of training) getting 3rd AG and 20 OA was pretty darn good

  • Comments: I erally like this race. It was rainy so the after event was difficult to enjoy if there was any. Everyone left right after the finish so we would not sit around in the rain. I think it is a great start to the season and allows you to get an idea on what areas you need to focus on working.

  • Comments: Nice race for beginners. This was my first race ever and I had a lot of fun and learned a lot by asking questions to some of the other experienced athletes.
