  • Comments: This was my first Rev3 event and I had heard nothing but good things about them. This was all true. Everything they did was top notch: the swag, letting family run through the finish, picture and name on the jumbo-tron, finisher's medal, etc. The awards were even amazing. For winning an age group, the award was $25 at the Rev3 store, a full box of Powerbar products, and a FREE ENTRY in any Rev3 70.3 next year. I would recommend this organization to anyone! I feel very lucky that I won my age group. Compared to last year, my time would not have even been 3rd. Luckily, all the fast 40-44 guys stayed home.

  • Comments: My only complaint is that many of the roads on the bike course weren't closed. This made for some dicey riding at times.

  • Comments: This was my first Rev 3 race and it was good. It was a little more amped up due to their also being a Full distance going on at the same time. Still not WTC quality, but getting there. There were pros on site, but I think most of the big names were in Las Vagas for the World Champs that were the same weekend. Regarless Cedar Point is a great venue for a race, the roller coaster lineup is legendary.

  • Comments: This was my first Rev3 event. I am very pleased with the race production, logistics, transition, etc. The volunteers were great in Cedar Point and despite starting a little late, the race was very well run. I'm looking forward to Rev3 Anderson, SC and maybe one or two of their races next year.

  • Comments: Excellent job by the Rev3 Team! Race support and volunteers were definitely top-notch! Finish line activities were great. My only critiques were the layout of the run course, and the poor post-race food. The run course would cause me to hesitate on another race at Cedar Point but I was very pleased with Rev3 overall and will be looking at their other races next year.

  • Comments: Rev3 is a great company - what they did to honor 9/11 was awesome and their coordination with RWB was phenomenal. The bike course roads in and out of the park sucked - but that's not their fault. Everything they did was great except for the post race food - that was BAD. But really everything else was great.

  • Comments: Overall, I love REV3. Working with them was awesome. They bring a big race atmosphere to it, but totally without the tension I've felt at IM branded events. Are there ares for improvement? Sure, there are. But the great thing is, they are open to those suggestions. I will send some of them in because I look forward to seeing them grow. This course is really the right type of course for me, and I'd definitely consider doing the Full REV out there someday. I look forward to doing more REV3 events in the future. I appreciated the special touches they added for the 9/11 Anniversary. Truly, the people that run REV3 are awesome. I highly encourage people to do their races, and if you have suggestions to make them better, let them know...cause likely they'll do it. They have more than won me over.

  • Comments: I PR'ed by 8 minutes from last year Got to hang with BT peeps before during and after the race I like the course (although the monotony of the middle six miles on the run is tough on the brain) Some minor negatives - Cedar Point backing out on tickets, running out of shirts and visors , lack of good recovery area for athletes Positives- Close geographically , organized, lots of local people, supports Ohio , well set up for families if you wish to bring people

  • Comments: Here's the prayer list for the day: Calm waters-- done. No rain on the bike-- done. No major bike issues-- done. Run the entire race-- done. Other personal issues-- done. God even put a cherry on the top of the day with a 4th/3rd place finish!!! What's that you ask? I placed 4th, but, since the top female was in my age group, she was removed and the rest of us were bumped up one place!!!!! I podiumed!!!!! I podiumed my entire season!!! I can't believe it!!!! As I walked back to the car, the ladies from breakfast remembered me. As it turns out, both of them made the podium, too! How about that!!!! (And I think I'll be back next year!)

  • Comments: Great race. I was extremely pleased with my performance. My goal was to beat 6 hours and I did that by 35 minutes. Being my first HIM in my first eason of triathlons, I couldn't have been happier and had more fun...except my legs holding on a little more. I had a lot of fun and my effort level was high and I stayed mentally focused.

  • Comments: It was sooo awesome to race with so many friends from BT. Trixie is THE best strapper bar none. I've said it before, and I'll say it again...I just love sharing the race experience with people I care about!!! I was so happy to be there sharing KL,Smoak,Sushigirl, Kristin and Dan's first HIM race with them!!! And of course, it was AMAZING to be able to cheer Coop in his IRONMAN debut! Overall I was happy with my effort, my improved pace on the bike and run from Monroe, and actually placing in my ag. Special thanks to Joanne for being my stalker during the race and alerting me to my place on fb, to SuperCoop for saving my butt by bringing the wetsuit to me, and to Steve and Russ for being the best babysitters on the planet. They rigged up my ride, charged my phone, decided our daily plan and went to the awards with me. I could get used to this treatment! ;)

  • Comments: I must say, I am VERY VERY glad that some of this stuff happened. Taught me some very important lessons moving forward towards the Austin 70.3. After I did Tri-Indy, I was like, "man this is EASY"... the difference between OLY and HIM is INSANE! I also had about a perfect race at tri-indy and about the worst rate I could have had at Rev3CP. Lessons learned, chalk it up to experience... I was also glad that my family came up to the race. It really meant a lot for them to make the trip up there as my mom hasn't seen me race in 5 years and dad hasn't since 07. I can't wait to have a HUGE PR at Austin.

  • Comments: Rev3 did an awesome, awesome job. I've never been to a 140.6 or a 70.3 race of any flavor but I've read a billion race reports and this was everything I've imagined and more. I loved getting a Finisher t-shirt at the finishing line (everyone else did too as that's all I saw all Sunday night and Monday morning), the organization was awesome, the transition area was fantastic!! I would do another Rev3 race again for sure- though I might not do this course again as the run course wasn't something I'd want to repeat (boring). I loved the swim/bike though. Thumbs up for the CP Half Rev!! :) I've done the Disney Half Marathon and this far exceeded that in family-friendly and bang for buck- Disney doesn't even give you a discount on park tickets whereas here you got 2 free tickets, cool even though I didn't get the chance to use them. I wouldn't stay at the Hotel Breakers again, it was way expensive, food was a pain and logistics were tricky around the park stuff. My parents stayed

  • Comments: I think Rev3 did a GREAT job for a first event. I give HUGE kudos first to how many volunteers they had in the water -- one of the most dangerous parts of the race. THAT was impressive. Then the aid stations on the bike and run course were OUTSTANDING! Not like I'm some HIM pro or anything, but compared to HIM Boise, Rev3 was head and shoulders above them in this regard. Downside, maybe out of their control: **Hotel Breakers was NASTY! You'd be better off camping! **Chip sealed roads, yuck. Thankfully I ride on Continental Grand Prixs which are a little sturdier than slicks, but I'd be worried. The new chip seal wasn't driven on enuf to smooth it out and my girlie bits are the worse for it.

  • Comments: This ended up being easier than I expected while still being one of the hardest things I've ever done. I learned a lot about myself as a triathlete and as a person. I learned that I'm stubborn as a mule and sometimes that's a good thing. I learned that being a girls still sucks. (Dear uterus, Seriously?? You couldn't have waited 12 more hours?) I learned that I really like the HIM distance and I would like to actually train to race the next one. I learned that I miss The Dude's support when he can't travel with me. I learned that a little bit of heart and a dash of willpower will carry you more miles than you might expect. And most importantly I learned, once the sun sets in Sandusky, don't ever, ever, ever ride in the front car of a roller coaster unless you want to eat lots and lots of bugs.
