  • Comments: Others have said it, but this race is just first class all the way and justifies the cost of the race. The volunteers are just superb. Every station was well provisioned. Best of all, the town and the townspeople really embrace the event. Coming through mile 12 a girl had buckets of cold water and was asking people if they wanted to be doused. It felt great. It is not the greatest race for spectators, but my kids had a great time playing in the river after the swimmers were out of the water.

  • Comments: Tricolumbia puts on a fantastic event. The race support is outstanding. At one point I missed a water cup from a guy on the course. This guy decided to run at my pace and try to catch me to get me the water that I dropped. I mean that's impressive. I can't thank those people enough. Even the ladies handing out the water and soda in the post race food area. It was He!! hot and they stood there until late in the afternoon with smiles working hard. A great race and a fantastic experience. Oh and Im going to Kona! Ole!

  • Comments: This is such a great event. It’s really amazing the way the town of Cambridge comes out to support it. We showed up at our hotel to find a giant table of Gatorade, bottled water, cereal bars, etc. waiting for us. And the hotel opened breakfast up at 4am so we could grab a bite before leaving. And the volunteers and support on the course was just great. It seemed like every 10-20 houses somebody had set up a sprinkler to run through or was pumping music over the loudspeakers. I felt bad not having the energy to even thank the volunteers on the run course – I hope they know! In the end, I don’t really know how to evaluate my performance. This was my first HIM, and I signed up hoping to break 6 hours. And I feel like I could have done in on a cooler day – I definitely had strength left that I didn’t get to use. The swim and bike went as well as I could have hoped. But the run was just so frustrating with so much left in the tank. I just don’t know what I could have done diff

  • Comments: Total: 6:21:02 PR on this course by a little over an hour. I've said it before, but this time I mean it. I will not go back to Eagleman. While it's a well run race, it's not suited to my strengths.

  • Comments: Overall, I should be plaesed when you compare my performance with others in my age group, but I know I am capable of more. The run continues to be my achiles.

  • Comments: The award ceremony was cancelled due to the impending storm. They will mail out the awards. My goal for the day was to get my picture taken with Julie Moss. I never even saw her.

  • Comments: I had a goal of 5:30 going in and fairly soon into the run I knew I wouldn't hit it. But this was my first half Ironman and I was pretty close. I'll take it. I should have trained more/harder, but what can you do? During the run I kept telling myself that I wasn't sure I'd ever do another half, let alone full. Well, that's out the window as I'm looking forward to the next one (not sure when yet). I know what I need to do for the next one...it's just a matter of doing it. I know I have the ability to be much faster, but it's the work ethic holding me back. If I ever harness my potential, I know I can be much faster. Can't wait for the next one!

  • Comments: Really didn't like the parking situation, especially when they randomly let people park in the park, even though they said it absolutely would not be allowed. The mess with the start wasn't good either, but I really do enjoy this race. Great history, but a rough day took alot of the joy out for me but still a great event.

  • Comments: My first Eagleman – another great CTA run race. The support on the course was fantastic and the MMTC tent was superb. Thanks to everyone who made it happen. And thanks to those who shouted out on the course : it was great encouragement. I have to pinch myself that I am really doing this for real AND I got to ride in that bus

  • Comments: It was interesting - I spent so many months training for this I thought I would be more emotional. Instead I felt drained and now have kind of a letdown feeling. Normal I know. Just working on trying to be happy with what I accomplished instead of focusing on not making my time goal. There's always the next race!

  • Comments: This was not my best race, I was limited by my ability to train. However, I was really pleased with my performance. Under 7 hours? 6:14. Do as close to 20 as I possibly could? 19.1. Not bad for just having a month to bike. I even actually had FUN on the run. Overall, a big win for me. And if you see the look on my face at the finish, well, it pretty much sums it up. I love this race, and I'll be back again!

  • Comments: This race is really like a 4.5. The only detractors I think is that there doesn't seem to be much for families/specators nor are there any places for folks to sit afterwards. I thought there were tables two years ago, but they were not there and I really like to sit in a chair somewhere out of the sun. There's free massage which is great! Now, for those who have not done Eagleman yet and are moving to the Half Ironman distance, this course if for you if you like flat and a close Half Iron event. It promises to be fast but looks can be deceiving as flat means constantly pedaling with no break. And no shade on the run plus hot conditions can mean long and grueling 13.1 miles on the run. The event is very well organized with plenty of volunteers and amenities for the competitors. Well stocked with ice and supplies on the run. Plus it's always a treat to meet with some of the pros. Tri Columbia in my opinion puts on a class act triathlon production and you do get what you pay for

  • Comments: As always they put on a great race all weekend long. The roll down is always a mess and they skipped the awards which I was glad they did. I was able to pack up and get my kids in the car and head home early. A fun one for sure.

  • Comments: Great race. An apparently mild day for Eagleman. Too bad I wasn't able to take advantage. Took it easy on the bike so I would have legs to finish run. Wish I could have trained better.

  • Comments: Incredible volunteers, especially during the latter stages (and hours) of the run course. This felt like an extremely well run race and I am ready to sign up for 2011. The heat is something they cannot control but I am glad to see the organizers were well prepared and made the right decisions where they could. Also, the only thing that took longer than that run was the drive back to Baltimore. Next year I will get a hotel in Cambridge for Sunday night and let everyone else enjoy that Bay Bridge traffic.
