  • Comments: The volunteers were amazing this day. Considering it was 96 outside with a feel like temp of 105! is truly amazing that they came out to help. Great race and after all of the complaining and gripe on hating the race and not doing it next year, well I'm going to wait and see what happens and make my decision later. Thank you for reading!

  • Comments: this race could not have been better prep for imloo. it was hot as hades. the swim was long, and non wetsuit legal. i need to get all my volume up, but otherwise i am feeling ready to take on imloo!!!! great experience and a 26 min PR over last year even with the heat and the swim.

  • Comments: A good race. Tons of volunteers. This was my first Ironman branded race so I might have been expecting more - a little better organization, more value for the price of admission. People talk up this race a lot and now after doing it, I have to say that although it was good, I just don't see what the hype is about. Logistically this is a hard race to attend - hotels are expensive, the parking situation is still a work in progress, lots of people squeezed into a relatively small space. They do a good job but now that I've done this race I probably won't be going back to do it again. There are too many other races I'd like to try. If you live near this race it is probably worth doing but if you have to travel and stay at a hotel, you might want to consider whether the time, effort and money is worth it.

  • Comments: Another good experience at Eagleman. Really appreciate the volunteers who helped all of us manage our way through the misery - they are incredible for giving up there time particularly on a day like that!

  • Comments: It was great to see FeXY teammates at each transition cheering me on, and getting some hi fives at the end of the run in the chute screaming my name. That felt really good. Having the FeXY BAT is awesome! Having a Coach and seeing other FeXY teammates on the course was awesome! Being there and experiencing this with FeXY was awesome! During the whole race, my motto was to "Appreciate and Enjoy This Experience". While it hurt, I do Appreciate the fact that I can do this well. And I can Enjoy my success! And I'll never forget how proud I am of Lisa for becoming a World Class Triathlete and qualifying for the IronMan 70.3 World Championships in Clearwater Fl in Nov 2010. Can't wait to cheer her on there!

  • Comments: This was a very well run race and a great venue! All of us were thinking of coming back to do it again next year as we had such a great weekend. Apart from the situation with the swim, the organizers did a great job. The awards ceremony was painfully long as they did the Clydesdales last and I actually won 2nd in my category! Glad I stayed to get the trophy and got a huge cheer from my teammates!

  • Comments: I wouldn't have made a PR no matter what after being 10 minutes behind after my swim however if the weather had cooperated more I would have been on track for a decent result. It just didn't happen.

  • Comments: They really did a good job with this race. As one of the BOP people, they still had PLENTY of volunteers and water out on the course. Volunteers were friendly, encouraging, and always ready to hand out water and ice. Can't say enough good things about the organization and volunteers for this race. So happy that I got out there and gave it a shot. It was a tough day because of the weather, but I had a long time to think about things and realized that I really do love this sport. No more racing without properly training. I'm ready to get back into it again. :-)

  • Comments: The volunteers for this race were great, and should be commended for their hard work in the heat and sun. I was a bit annoyed that the race started 15 min late, but oh well. Overall, I had a good race. It's hard not to be disappointed when your time is worse that last year's in every discipline, but the vast majority of that was due to the heat. I'm not sure if the "table" will show up below, but comparing my placement from the year to last year, I'm in virtually an identical spot. • Overall course based on my ability: Too hard

  • Comments: Start was delayed 15 minutes. A little sketchiness on the wetsuit, I didn't feel the water was that hot, and actually felt cold for most of the last leg. Although it the temperature was extremely variant. Swim was long. Also noticed that they announced the end of events while there was still people finishing, possibly after the cutoff. (Didn't notice a celebration or recognition of the final official finisher, either).

  • Comments: Even given the conditions, this was a great race- I was SO impressed with the volunteer support (those folks were out there for HOURS in the blazing heat) and abundant supply of water, ice, etc. It was my first HIM so I didn't have that many expectations going in but I think this is a first-rate race and think I'll probably come back again next year!

  • Comments: There are a ton of grouped waves so I didn't go off for an hour after the race started. The water was very warm, so wetsuits weren't allowed. Was 103 degrees on the run and there is ZERO shade, so that was brutal. Also not a huge fan of completely flat courses just because it gets boring staying in the same gear on the bike.

  • Comments: Eagleman is a first class event and very well organized. There's enough of everything and I really do enjoy the course. I actually would like some hot food than cold afterwards. Minor issue, though. The food is pretty good I thought overall. Additional reporting comments on what happened after I finished: I stop to allow the nice volunteers to take my chip and give me my finishing medal. I'm moving very slowly ahead to the gatorade table and grab one to take along as I get out of the way of others. I considered going to the medical tent, but I didn't think I was feeling that bad. Just tired and my legs hurt a great deal. I really just needed to get food, drink, and sit in a chair a spell. So I go and grab some chow, thanking all the nice volunteers I saw there. Now after I have food, I don't dare sit on the ground as I'm afraid I won't get back up. So, I find a chair by a table and this suits me just fine. Eventually my friend Mike joins me too and we discuss the race.

  • Comments: Yet another well run CTA event. This was my 4th year doing the race, 3rd finish (dropped out during the run last year). I finished, but it was not really that great of a race overall. Good swim, okay bike, crappy "run." Time still puts me in the upper half of the field, but c'mon, will I ever really be happy with that??? Of course not. I decided (for real this time) that I really don't enjoy long distance races and that I will not be signing up for anymore until I have adequate time to train. The experiences are just not pleasant for me and I have no desire to make every long distance event a suffer fest later in the event. Until I can seriously train for them and put in the sort of time that I know I need to compete, I'm not going to waste any more money on it. Aside from the fact that I seem to have a beter capacity to go pretty fast for shorter distances and sustain it. So that is what I'm going to stick with.

  • Comments: I PRed my HIM time by 2 minutes which is cool but I wanted to go under 5:30 which I think I should have done. The race itself was awesome. I will do it again this year. It was also good that TriDelaware had a strong showing. I think there were 15 of us there. We just need a better tent!

  • Comments: It's only my second tri ever and my first 70.3, but this one seemed well run. I know there were some complaints from the fast people who started behind me about having to pass slower people like me, and complaints from the slower waves behind me that it was very lonely. I guess there's no perfect situation. The volunteers were good and the aid stations well stocked. I think it was a great race and would recommend it and strongly consider doing it again.
