  • Comments: I have nothing to compare this to but I loved it! I am already training to do another triathlon myself. It was well organized and the volunteers were encouraging. I will definitely do this race next year.

  • Comments: I thoguht this was good race. They spilt the Sprint and Oly races this year which made everything run smoother. CGI puts on a great race. I would not change anything about this race.

  • Comments: Still my favorite and likely will always be my favorite. I really liked how the sprint distance worked out being split up from the Olympic race distance. Having the Sprint on Saturday and the Olympic on Sunday is most definately the way to go. Crazy thing is how crowded the park was on Saturday during the sprint. Seriously. I don't know how it was done for all those years with both races on the same day. I also know where the Olympic racers' complaints came from regarding late start times since my Wave #16 did not start until just about 9AM. That sun just beats down on you after you get off of the bike. No more Clydesdale division for me if they are going to be going off at 9AM.

  • Comments: CGI did a great job with this race. There are a lot of athletes to organize and they did a great job. Highly recommended. It was really great having my family there. Thank you Jim, Alex, Brandon, Mom and Dad for getting up so early to hang out in the heat and be such a great cheering section. I really appreciated it!

  • Comments: The CGI team did a great job. There was lots of water and a pretty big festival after the race. It's a well coordinated, well run event, no doubt. I heard that they had issues with traffic getting into the park in prior years which leads to a later start time. This year that really hurt. I went off at 8:45, so I was running in the heat of the day, which definitely impacted my run time. The transition being in a parking lot is tough on the feet, and the long runs in and out made me feel like I got time added to my racing times that should have been logged in transition. I'm not sure I'll do this race next year because the time of year (it's probably always going to be hot at the end of July) the start time and the transition logistics.

  • Comments: I think CGI puts on a great event, but 5 minute intervals on the waves and late start time (7:45 actually) only hurt the participants. I moved to the Sprint because of the Heat wave and my start time was going to be 8:20, not safe at all. I'd recommend moving the start time up to 7:00 at least.

  • Comments: Christine and I both had very good races. This is the first time that I placed in my ag. This is 2 races in a row with very good results. The bike and run continue to improve. Swim still needs lots of help

  • Comments: CGI does an amazing event and this was no exception. Very organized, a ton of volunteers, they controlled traffic on the course very well, lots of people in the water to look out for you. Given the number of participants (twice what it was three years ago when I last did this race), it's pretty amazing they got off as close to on time as they did. Unfortunately, by the time they got to me (16th of 17 waves), they were 10 minutes late; I went off at 8:55; the elites had already finished. That aspect is probably what will make me reluctant to do this again. It's fun to do a big one now and then, but no so much when you're in the water with all those people.
