  • Comments: My overall time was 1:12:23.7 I did this race in 1:11:36 in 2003. I really wanted to beat that time at least, but my first transtion screwed that up... had i not had such a horrible time and had just an average transition I would have broken the 1:10:00 barrier.. so in all i feel ok about how i did.

  • Comments: Fortunately, the race director had someone recording numbers as they crossed the finish line. I suppose that this is insurance against the chip system failing. It worked out well for me as I did not have a chip but they were still able to record my overall time and place me appropriately in my AG. A time of 1:08:28 is good for me as I had hoped to come in under 1:10:00. They do a really good job with these Tri the Parks races and I will be back for a couple more this summer. I would really like to finish "on the podium" for one of these. I missed it by one spot on Saturday. Next up: Florida 70.3!

  • Comments: Enjoyed this race, first one in this series and first sprint i ever did. My goal was 1:30, which I was off of by 4 minutes, not to upset about that since I did horrible in the water. Very pleased with my Bike and running. Just Open water swim was horrible.

  • Comments: Blue sky does a nice job with this series. It is on time and well organized. My only complaint is the penalty- but that is the USAT guy. Not really much to do after the race, so I went home with mixed feelings about this race. It is the first race of my tri season and I learned from some mistakes and will move forward, and at some point this season get my top 3 finish in the clyde division. Sill overcame a lot, had a fantastic run and a good finishing time. It was only last june that I did my first sprint with only a goal of finishing, so I have come a long way, and will continue to get better.

  • Comments: TTP is what it is, a low key parks series. They concentrate a lot on things that matter (safety, permitting, rescue). They don't seem to have a lot of volunteers, but those that do come out do a good job. Their events are on-time (weather permitting). This is definitely the easiest TTP race course, both in the bike and the run.

  • Comments: The race was run very well and I give kudos to those that organized and maintained it. The faults of the race were my own lack of preparation and effort. All in all it was a good workout a good chance to see a new area and as always its great to be around competitors and those making efforts towards physical health.

  • Comments: Was a bit disappointed. I had fooled myself into thinking that I was in better shape. Reality check. Immediate reaction was to start training more seriously for 7/23 sprint w/ specific performance goals: 20mph bike, 24 min 5K, better swim.

  • Comments: I liked this race and would attend again. Not wanting to spend a lot of time with the sprints but I liked the three courses and the locale. Post race awards ceremony was SLOOOWWWWWW. I hope they don't expand though. That swim would be a 'dog pile on the rabbit' with any more people.

  • Comments: I was nervous about this one since I was not able to train properly due to work schedules. I had terrible butterflies driving to the race site till close to start time. I was in a state of defeat before the swim and I knew I am in trouble. I was told a number of swimmer quit just after 25m of swimming -- and I am almost of of them. I kept ensuring myself to stay calm and finish the swim safely no matter how long it takes. The race will not be decided with the swim... I was glad I see land (found out later I got a splinter on my toe from running to T1). The bike was fine. After digging in, I got into a rhythm and finish the bike in decent time. The run was automatic. Next time, I should spend 30 seconds to hydrate myself and zoom out to the finish line. It feel so good to overtake other runners -- ego booster after the horrific swim. I must accelarate my pace to 6:45 pace right after the 1.5 mile marker to build up distance. Then slow to sub 7 and take it home with what is left in me. I

  • Comments: I like the Tri the Parks series. They are put on well and they are great way to be introduced to the sport. I don't know how many more I'll be doing this summer because of other races and also because they always leave me wanting more. :) 2nd in age group. I was 8th female across (out of 79) so that is a little more exciting to me. Also - I got to meet my local competition for the next few years when they handed out awards at the end and we had to take pictures together. She's really, really good. I need to train!

  • Comments: I was impressed with this race, but I gotta tell ya - it SUCKS that a race official wasnt there (how bout a sign?) to tell folks to turn right. I mean I only had less than a 1/2 mile to go. boooo! And, can we speed up the awards ceremony?

  • Comments: This Tri the parks is really fun. I am looking forward to the next race. The only things that I have to say is that it would have been nice to have someone at that last turn on the run course and they need to keep things moving a little more with the awards ceremony and such. Maybe they could wait for the slow pokes and put the good bagels out later. LOL

  • Comments: I like the Tri the Park series and this one was good with a few exceptions. A vounteer strayed from their post (after I had passed, otherwise, in the condition I was in mentally I'd probably still be running) and some runners missed the turn. Another thing I found odd was the police car stopped on the right side of the road just before a sharp right turn, forcing riders into the left lane (this was an open course, meaning cars) to complete the turn. He may have been covering a pothole or something, but he hit his siren just as I passed to signal an oncoming car and almost startled me off the bike. And the awards ceremony took way to long to get started, not that I was involved, but I had to wait for abear2, who is making a habit of collecting the hardware. :) Now that I have whined and complained about how terrible things were for me, I want to mention the extremely nice man I briefly chatted with at the end of the race. He had finished in 1:58 and had no complaints at all and seemed

  • Comments: I was really disappointed by my swim time, but I think I can chalk some of it up to the cold-ass water. The flat tire really blew serious chunks but that's something that I can put down on my "have done" list: change a flat tire during a race. I really wish I would've hit the split button on my watch so I could've known how long it took, but I estimate anywhere from 7-10 (maybe even more) minutes. I felt like I was really smoking the bike and the flat tire made me all the more motivated to hammer the remaining part of the bike and nail the run.
