  • Comments: Some of the problems with this race were not related to my course. But, the long course had trouble with the bike portion...the course was not marked well at all and SEVERAL bikers didn't get on the right course and were disqualified. Should have been some people on the course to direct short course and long course people. Also, we were supposed to get a technical tshirt and the race site made a huge deal out of the fact that you would NOT get a cotton tshirt and yet that's what we got. But, for my first triathlon, I was thrilled. It was a great experience. The swim wasn't what I expected, but even then I was pleased with how I handled it all. And when I finished I was higher than a kite and so proud of myself that I was able to finish and I finished WELL!!

  • Comments: Not anywhere near as well organized as Heritage Athletes beware, you alone are responsible for knowing routes, saw course issues on swim, bike, and run felt bad for DQ'd long course bikers, turn signs marked long or short or cornerworks where long and short routes divert would have been nice, but how hard is it to look at the map first?

  • Comments: There were a lot of little things that bothered me about the organization of the race but they weren't enough that I didn't enjoy it. The website stated that the t-shirt was a technical tee and said it wasn't your ordinary cotton t-shirt... but we got cotton t-shirts. My birthday was wrong on my label but my age was right so the age group was right. The run course not being closed was unbelievable. The water station running out of water was disappointing. I didn't like the bike racks given that my bike didn't fit in - I prefer the kind you hang the handle bars on I guess.

  • Comments: Please see my race report for details on the mess KLM made of this race. I love this course and this race, but the fact that the finish line timing mats were BROKEN and they did not realize or fix it for at least 20 minutes - and handed out awards based on unofficial and knowingly imcomplete finisher information... makes me seriously reconsider ever doing another KLM event.

  • Comments: This was my first race, so I have nothing to compare it to. I will say that the directions from the hotel to the race were awful. Both me and my family got completely lost. There were a lot of volunteers cheering us on, and everyone was really helpful. Well organized.

  • Comments: I had the time of my life! I crossed that line, and I thought to myself, "I'm officially addicted to this sport." I don't know how it happened that a brainy musician type chick got hooked this type of sport, but I'm hooked. I like competing against myself, doing my best, and just feeling this sense of accomplishment. No, it wasn't a long race, but it was perfect for a first time! And I really believe that I did incredibly well for a first effort--and for only having 10 weeks of training under my belt. Next time I'll bring my flip flops to wear around, so I can leave my running shoes in transition.
