  • Comments: Very very well organized, no lineups anywhere!! Lots of volunteers and aid stations. There is a reason why it's been on for 21 years!! Really good atmosphere and despite crappy weather was a great race!!

  • Comments: New organizer this year. Was well run in years past but it was awesome this year. Had a Ironman feel to it right from package pick up to the finish! I'd love to do this race every year but may be doing Ironman Coeur d'alene next year. Only a week apart. Highly recommend this race to others! There was a good variety of new and experienced triathletes.

  • Comments: This was the best organized Half Iron distance (although I've only been to 2 and only 1 of those was well done), I've ever been to. The atmosphere was fantastic! The city, volunteer and spectator support was fantastic, as did the food. I cannot say enough about this race. It is well worth racing and no wonder that it is internationally known and raced. I would highly recommend it to any and everyone! Even though this last item isn't really about rating the race, I could not have done this race without the kindness and generosity of many people. Many and much thanks: To Frankie and Bruce for kindly taking me to the race when the car broke down. I couldn't have had this personal best without you. To Wade and Catherine for helping to facilitate this pick up and for being your ever wonderful selves. You are both inspirations and fun, to boot! To my husband who did all the heavy lifting both physically, mentally and sacrificially--again!! To Terry for inspiring me to race this

  • Comments: This was a great race and I will definitely do again. Very organized and excellent help by all of the volunteers. If I were to look for a area of improvement (very minor), it would be to add more volunteers at the end of the race. When I crossed the finish line, I was asked to remove my timing chip and place it into the box. With pushing as hard as I did for the last km, I was worried that I might fall over it I attempted to remove the chip. Luckily, I didn't. Everything from carb load meal, pre-race meeting, race and post race meal with awards were excellent! Wouldn't recommend this race to anybody as they could potentially sign up before me! ; ) If you are thinking of doing a Half ironman distance race, this is a great race to do!

  • Comments: Did it. Broke 6. Broke my mental block. Now I have to run it faster without the pain. This is a fantastic race that rivals any 70.3 race (from what I've heard) in terms of volunteer support. The whole race is focused on Age Groupers - although some pros and semi-pros come out to this. There is great prize money, awards, super door prizes (I won a $500 gift certificate for a tri store) and two meals includes with registration. Do this race! • Comments: This was a great race. I'm happy with this. I wanted to come under 6 hours and I would have without the flat tire. I felt good on the bike and for the first half of the run. Run was 10 min faster than my last HIM run and this is a 20 min PR. ALTHO.. my other HIM was on a very hilly course, so it's not quite comparable!

  • Comments: Not much more to say. Personal Best Half Iron distance race. My swimming rocked, my biking was solid...and so were my cramps. This was a great race. Another learning experience. • Comments: The Great White North Triathlon is a great race that many excellent triathletes take part in. I would do this one again however my next half Ironman will likely be closer to home.

  • Comments: I have to figure out how to have faster transitions, and a better run. 2 races in a row, that's what has killed my time. At ironman, not as imperative but I also don't want to waste alot of time doing it. Positives: - great swim, felt really comfortable even with all of the people out there. A big improvement from Arbour Lake. - good bike ride other than the mechanical and the transition. Aero position was relatively comfortable but my neck was stiff/sore at the end. I may have to work on positioning a bit. Overall a good learning experience for the IMC in August. It's daunting to think of 2x this weekend but as the motto goes...Just do it.
