  • Comments: This was a 24 minute improvement over last year's race. I was thrilled with this. I went all out on this and am very happy with the results. There is also nothing like running a race in NYC, the crowds are amazing and the cheering just carries you along like no other place. I will do this race again and again! I guess my only complaint is that the bike course gets really crowded due to the number of participants. You almost can't help but draft at times despite best efforts not to. I don't know if anyone got any penalties for this.

  • Comments: I really enjoyed the race despite my issues. I think it is a good fun race for everyone to do once (unless you live in NYC, then do it more). The spectators and volunteers were amazing!

  • Comments: Awesome race. Not time wise, but it was definitely my favorite of all the races Ive done.

  • Comments: This race was run for my wife. I ran for the Life without Lupus charity. My wife came along and tried to cheer me on, but she nearly collapsed from the heat and the effect Lupus has played on her health. In reality, but for having signed up under the charity bib, I would have skipped this race. Now, a couple days out, having caught up on my sleep and the sharp pain / cramp in my right hamstring now reduced to a dull roar, I'm glad we did it. I am very happy with my race and my time. My only regret is not pushing the run harder and shooting for a sub 2:45. This might be one of the only times that finishing time was realistically in reach for me because of my swim time. I don't what, if any, races are in my future. But if this turns out to be my swan song, I'll have finished on a high note.

  • Comments: This was a unique, well organized race from packet pick-up to finish line. I'm not sure if I missed the post-race food or if there was none other than what I mentioned. I had a hard time finding a bottle of water after I left the finish area and ended up getting one from the invite-only Accenture tent at the Finish Fest. The crowd was so big and I was so tired it's all kind of a blur. Will definitely do it again next year.

  • Comments: This is a race that lives up to the hype. Yes, there are lots of people, and yes it’s kind of a logistical PIA, with check-in at the Hilton, bike check in on Saturday, the two different transitions, the finish line being so far from transition, the 1.5 mile walk to swim start, etc. But, overall, it’s an extrodinarily well-run race for the size and scope. The volunteers are great (I’m not just saying that because I was one), the course is the best urban race course in the country, IMO, and there are some really nice amenities and details that make it a unique and fun event. I’m looking forward to racing it again.

  • Comments: I was going to defer, but happy that I did the race. I did 3 min better than last year, but I know I could have done better. I am happy that my fitness level is such that I can do an Oly with almost no training and finish.

  • Comments: I really liked this race. Streets were closed, everything was very organized, and it was a really cool experience. I supposed I do have to say that it is a little frustrating how crowded and tight everything was. I know it's New York City, but it is a little tough trying to maneuver around everyone on the bike. All in all, it was a great experience.
