  • Comments: Great race for a beginner, small and fairly flat, well organized with lots of volunteers. Had a blast. Can't wait for the next one. I took the data for the 35-45 YO males and compared how I did. swim 33/51; T1 49/51; Bike 34/51; T2 42/51; run 43/51; OA 39/51 No real suprises, run needs the most work. T1 needs to improve. Swim was really too unusual to draw too firm of a conclusion.

  • Comments: First race of the season and instantly remembered why I love this sport. It is a blast! I have some serious work to work out my mental issues in the swim because I don't want to give up the sport. The other thing I love about this sport are the people. The bonus for this event was meeting my fellow BTer's: Ray, Amanda and Rob. All very cool people. Amanda won her division, Rob won his age group, Ray made a mean Salsa and I... well I survived with a smile on my face (I guess we know who the weak link is here) Dispite my shortcomings, I had fun and I'm still smiling. I guess that is what it is all about.

  • Comments: Awesome kids Tri.. MY son had a blast and that was THE goal. I wish they would have waited for the kids to finish before the adult waves went off..or at least put adults with kids in the last wave. The adult tri was fun...People were friendly, helpful, excited to be there. I have a new personal record for a 5k and know i need to work on some mental prep, bike lots more, and hopefully a proper taper/warmup wont leave my legs feeling dead.

  • Comments: The first wave went out a 5-10 minutes late. After that things took off pretty quickly. They had lots of people all over that place, which was nice. People stopping traffic for the bike and directing you around during the run. Post race, it was kinda sucky. They had water from a water fountain, something that tasted like really bad Kool-Aid, Gatorade at the finish, some bananas, bars and cheese, sausage and crackers. That was a little weird. Overall, though, it was a good event. They just need to work on the Post Race - which is what I heard about some of their other events also. I would definetely go back to this race next year!

  • Comments: Great race! Everyone in our group....there were 6 that became triathletes today.....left extremely happy. It was a great event and a great day! I bet since this one went off so well the post-race-events and hype will get even better! Ray, StarGazer, did a great job and makes a killer salsa! It was great having him there. He totally calmed my nerves and I think has more information about every local race filed in his brain! I was totally psyched to be able to walk away with an award! I would have placed 5/15 in my age group had I not raced Athena. I don't regret signing up for that category at all; 1st/11 is definitely respectable. The run was the hardest for me physically, but I pulled a Possum and started thanking volunteers and cheering on people that were doing a great job (i.e. passing me). The workload seemed to totally lighten up and I was able to enjoy even the run! That's big! It was so awesome to have my parents and friends there. I was joined by my restaurant co-workers
