  • Comments: Overall a very good race. I beat almost all my goals. I finished in the top half of my age group (barely). Finished under 1:15. I didn't beat 8:00 on the swim though. I'll do it next time. Long term goal (next year or perhaps in September) is to place top 20 in AG.

  • Comments: Great race, I will definitely do it again, good people, all volunteers/staff very friendly. Excellent amenities, food, and very well set up. I have spectated at a few triathlons, but I have to say the crowd, and the cheering makes it one of my fav's so far. My only gripe is the race started about 20minutes late. There was a dedication ceremony at the beginning of the race which was heartfelt and moving, and also motivational. Im glad I chose this race, It was my 1st triathlon and hope there will be more to come.

  • Comments: We got to the race just a bit after 5AM. Racked our bikes and then I went back to the car to snooze a bit. At 6:45 I'm standing in line in the bath-house and I hear "# 642, your bike is on the wrong rack. You have about 2 minutes to move it and then you won't be able to find it." CRAP! So I run out and sure as shit, it's on the wrong rack. WTF? I'm the first one there and can't even find the right rack?? So I move my shit, and now I'm squeezed onto an already full rack. The guys there were pretty cool about it tho, they made room and only teased me a little bit. Now the announcer was a different story. Seeing how we go back to about 1988 (co-workers at the PO) he took every chance he had (both before and after the race) to announce my name and # as the one who didn't know where to rack her bike! It was pretty funny actually. It was a good race and the weather held out. It never did rain even tho the forecast called for thundershowers. 3rd place Athena 40-49. AG was

  • Comments: I can't wait to do the September sprint. I hope I can improve my times. I would reccommend this race. They do everthing right! I just wish the weather was better... It's so fun seeing people that I know at the races, plus it keeps me from getting nervous.

  • Comments: Matt came and volunteered, even after working until 11:30 last night. Hehe, I really didn't give him a choice, but he came along willingly. Max left before the awards were over. He's got a bit of a drive to get home to his lovely bride. Patty stayed with Donna and me in the hopes of us placing in the Athena division. It didn't happen and we left cold and wet but overall pleased with the morning.
