  • Comments: Great race! This was my very first tri, and I am glad I picked this race. Very well organized, and a very scenic course. Will definitely try to do it again next year!

  • Comments: Nice job by Rich and all his volunteers - tons of them! My son got 2nd in his age group so we waited a long time for the 'awards' (he got a nice hat) ...Sorry to complain, but awards should probably commence no more than 2 hours after the start of a sprint. As it was, that didn't wrap until 4+ hours after the start (I know, ungrateful!). We will be back next year!

  • Comments: I was very happy with the race overall as it was my first in two years. At 220 lbs., I was happy with my fitness level, and look forward to see what more training and dropping another twenty pounds will do to my time. Hope to break 1:10 in September.

  • Comments: Great event. Beautiful course. I didn't get top ten age group goal. I swam poorly, had a good bike (but needs to be 1-2 mph faster, an ok run that needs to be much faster, and pretty good transitions.

  • Comments: This was my first race. Absolutely fantastic time! The other participants were great, very friendly, shared ideas. I finished under 1 hour 40 minutes, for a 220 pound dude, that isn't too bad. Now I am hooked! The run was a challenge, I have been running on a treadmill, much different on the road. The bike ride was a piece of cake. The swim was interesting, The wetsuit kept me warm, but I felt like I was being strangled at the half way point of the swim. The most interesting aspect of the event was the many different bodies. The old saying "there will always be somebody better looking, bigger, faster, stronger, weaker, slower and fatter" was true. Some participants looked like they should be models and others looked like they were 2 minutes away from their 3rd heart attack. I had a great time, any suggestions for my second race? Thanks, The Dude
