  • Comments: Great day out, really. It was the biggest field of competitors I'd seen in a SuperSprint race (about 2200). It was very well organised and lots of activities on. My 2nd place series prize package is awesome ($200 worth of gear from Giant bicycles). Running under 25min for the run would have been the icing on the cake but never mind, there are other races in my future.

  • Comments: I don't like that the Athena's are presented medals after every other age group. We're at the start of the alphabet! It's been a good season and I've loved challenging myself with new, longer distances. I am very tired and thoroughly worn out. I need a break from tri's and competition. I've done 8 races this season, including 2 OD's and one long course. I will need to approach winter training differently to last year. I need to build strength and speed to compliment my endurance - and most importantly, have a break! Overall, I placed 2nd in the series, earning a nice little voucher from TriAlliance, so I think I might get a bike fit and a massage. :)

  • Comments: Nothing that the Gatorade series can't do. Too long transition runs but what can you do. I need to learn not to take my Gatorade series back from last year, because everyone has one and it just gets lost.

  • Comments: I have had a great series. What an intro to triathlon! From the mini's to the sprints, it has been such an experience. Lots of growth and I have absolutely loved competing. I think I forgot how competitive I can be, lol. Really want to sink my teeth into an Olympic distance. Over winter, I plan on making some additions to my bike (aero bars, new wheels), getting myself some proper tri bike shoes and basically working my butt off to get my riding skills up to speed. Big thanks to Jess for inspiring me to do this :)

  • Comments: There could have been a drink station between 1km and 3.5km. Normally they have them every 1km, so I expected one there, but didn't. Otherwise, I would have had more at the 1km station!

  • Comments: The Elites raced after the Age Groupers. It would have been amazing to watch, sadly Christine and I were exhausted and shelter, shower and food seemed like the better option. After dissecting each others race we ate & slept most of the afternoon away. Comments to come out of the race included; our wave was about 3 minutes behind the expected time for our/the swim. People were pulled out of the swim with hypothermia. The bike course was tough, in that it was a long way out & lonely. Two 20km laps would have been preferable. There were very few motorbikes out checking for drafting. All in all if this race is on next Easter I'd almost certainly not do it again. Its a big ask of our partners to give up a four day weekend in the name of triathlon, but I can't thank them enough for their support. I did enjoy the Olympic distance and when starting out never saw this distance as anything more than a race that Olympians do! Sadly issues with timing bands see no times for each event
