  • Comments: Had to drive around wondering where to park as lots listed on website were closed. I was lucky, as some of the shuttle bus drivers didn't know where they were going. Had to wait over an hour after I finished for the T1 bags to be brought to the finish area.

  • Comments: This was an awesome race and I'll be back next year! If I can get in better shape, I'll do the Olympic distance. However, I wish they would set up the Olympic distance so that the bike and run actually go further out (or take a more roundabout route) rather than just repeat sections of the sprint.

  • Comments: Great job. Only thing that needs work is the waiting for your gear from T1 issue. It took about 90 min to get my gear. If I do this race again I would try to pass off my T1 bag to Milagros at the bike start so no need to wait.

  • Comments: Race WOULD have started on time but the ocean wasn't cooperating, and life guards were spreading out the wave because so many were having trouble.

  • Comments: It was great to race this one again and the new sections on the bike course were really fun with a ton of rollers . The pavement on Wilshire was disastrous . The swim iN and Out were finally clearly separated like it should have always been . T2 and Finish area were Great and I placed in the sprint so I had a good day. Could not buy a bus tix at the expo so ended up ridding back down Venice after the race.

  • Comments: Nice bike tour of the city. I enjoyed running downtown. The awards could have started a lot earlier than noon or whatever.

  • Comments: I loved this race. The swim start/finish were too close, but other than that it was solid. The courses were well marked and I will definitely try to do this race again next year (and win!). I was married on Sept 1st and my training for the days leading up to the wedding and after the wedding was non-existent. I know next year I can do better, but I would NEVER trade the incredible woman I married for a few minutes off my time ;)

  • Comments: Good race , I had a good time . I am looking forward to doing it again . The swim in and out are too close to each other , this resulted in collisions and confusion in many of the Olympic waves. And delays in starting the sprint waves . Swim start need to be moved one lifeguard station north. Entrance to T1 from the beach was better this year Transition 2 was set up better than in past years. Everyone had to run through the entire area and exit at the back. It saved me about a minute.

  • Comments: I had such a great experience. The week leading up to the race my fiance and I decided to separate and I started a new job. Coupled with the swim disaster at IB 2 weeks ago, I wasn't sure I even wanted to do this race. I actually just wanted it to be over. Having my (ex?) fiance and friends there helped alot in terms of support. I was scared of the swim, so once I had success with that I think it set the tone for the whole race. I came out of the water grinning and gave my friends the thumbs up!! I found the bike to be challenging being a bit uphill and longer than most sprint races, but overall did ok. The run was way easier/ shorter than I expected. The biggest buzz for me is that I ended up 4th in my age group. Of course, the sprint group was much smaller than olympic so I think there were only eighteen, but it still felt good. Going up on stage and getting a medallion while my friends cheered for me was such a buzz. I felt like a superstar!!!! I couldn't believe

  • Comments: These are my aproximate times for the LA Triathlon based on my Accenture Athlete Alert and my Timex chrono. Swim (645 meters): 0:29:01 T1: 0:05:34 Bike (20 miles): 1:16:37 T2: 0:05:25 Run (3.1 miles): 0:32:49 Final Time: 02:29:26 Donna couldn't make it to Venice Beach but she had signed up for Accenture Athlete Alert and within minutes of me crossing the timing pad, she got an update. This was a great feature!!! It let her know that I was safely out of the water. It also let her know when I got to T2 which meant 30 minutes or so before I crossed the finish line where she and my family waited. Others around her were like, "I don't even know if my husband made it through the swim." She said others were worried about their significant others because of what people were saying about the waves. If she didn't know that I crossed that pad at Venice, she would have been SOOOO worried! The Accenture Athlete Updates were VERY close to the times I got from my Timex Chrono. I was off
