Subject: RE: Tour Das Hugel : Official ThreadThis will be my fourth time. Only doing the first loop due to time constraints with the family. The cheesy potatoes at the River Place stop are awesome. You'll see a handful of people on tri bikes. This is my favorite ride in Austin. The vibe from the other riders cannot be beat. Smoky Valley, which is on the first loop, has to be the hardest hill of them all. At one point the grade is around 23%. And when you get to the top, you still have Ladera Norte to taunt you Jester being in the last few miles is interesting. Makes the ride back on 360 seem pretty tame. When you are riding down th edam hill, you'll take a right into the park and another quick right between rocks. There is actually some pavement there as you ride under the 620 bridge. Be careful on this path as there are a few rough patches. Enjoy the ride! |
