Ernesto, glad to hear that you got your new CT, let us know your first impressions after you get to use it.
Mitch, glad to hear you have your pain cave all set up, enjoy!
Kuddos to you Chris for running in those temperatures!
On my side, I have been keeping up with most of my trainings (2 X day) and today was a 3 hr/41 Mi bike ride with good climbing and strong headwinds.
Hope everyone has a good weekend
Gabe,
The Computrainer is phenomenal, all the super triathletes that I know (sub 10 hours) use it so I thought there must be something to it... Well, the truth is that it is ready when you get home, all you do is turn the power on and go. No driving to the starting point, no waiting when someone has a flat, no red lights, no traffic, no water stops... Just you and the course.
I bought three videos: Kona, Mt Tremblant (HILLY AS HELL) and an intervals video with a team of pro cyclists. Yesterday I did an hour of Kona, and since it was shot on race day, you see people cheering, aid stations, cars, people jogging in their neighborhoods, very realistic. To add even more realism the resistance decreases/increases with the course's topography and it is very realistic too, a hill feels HARD as hills do and when you're going downhill it feels just like it.
Very happy with my purchase and I highly recommend it, especially to those bound to be home for the winter season. This thing will make you tougher than nails in no time simply because you don't miss any rides.
I'd be lying if I didn't say I was jealous of your computrainer. Sounds uber cool. I did get to order my 910xt from REI last week (it's availability to order comes and goes due to it's shipment to retailers being delayed and its backordered nature). I was lucky enough to have my girls get me the footpod and bike sensor for christmas. So as I get ready to transition to Garmin from Polar I'm wondering if anyone in the group utilizes SportTracks? DCRainmaker swears by it and uses it has his primary software. He uses Garmin Connect too - but really to archive and ensure he has online backup if his computer ever crashes.
I have to also say that there is some really cool stuff out there now...Trainer Road looks cool and has left me thinking of setting up my old computer in the pain cave and just using it for cycling.
