Swim
Comments: Lots of rocks around the bouy by the water exit. It looked like an underwater field of pods from the movie Alien. Got hung up on the pods and had to float on my back until I could clear them. What would you do differently?: Familiarize myself with the swim. It's much more important to do it with this race than Righteous Richland, which is a pretty straight forward swim. This one is not. Lots of millweed and rocks. Need to figure out how to navigate around the rocks and the best spot for exit. Transition 1
Comments: I forgot my new wetsuit is smaller and not quite so easy to remove, so I didn't start taking it off soon enough. Struggled with my race belt a bit. What would you do differently?: Start taking my wetsuit off sooner. I wonder if I should try wearing my race belt under my wetsuit? Bike
Comments: I thought I would have placed better here. I really pushed my comfort levels by pedaling while cornering. I rode as hard as I could. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Transition 2
Comments: Really fast here. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Run
Comments: My GPS watch refused to connect to the satellite. I spent probably the first mile fighting with it until I finally just shoved it in my back pocket. It was really, really hot--near triple digits, but the heat did not affect me. What would you do differently?: Run faster. I really pushed myself on the bike and was pretty worn out by the time I got to the run. Post race
Warm down: Got some ice cold grapes and a soda from the cooler in my truck. What limited your ability to perform faster: My body. And maybe my mind. Last updated: 2014-11-13 12:00 AM

Drove an hour and a half to the event site.
Set up my transition, visited the restroom several times, and then walked the half mile to the swim start with everyone else.
