What would you do differently?: Swim faster and try to get out of the meelee  Transition 1
Comments: I need to practice the "shoes on bike" transition  Bike
Comments: I had a pretty good bike. I only got passed by 2 people What would you do differently?: maybe I could have been a little more agressive on the first/last hill Transition 2
Comments: Had a little trouble with the tungue of my left shoe, but my new Nikes are really nice to run in without socks.  Run
Comments: Here's where the wheels fell off. I hav not done enough brick workouts this Spring and it really showed here. I was onehurt pup on the last hill, and it was on the last hill that the third place guy pipped me.....Damnit! What would you do differently?: Mo' bricks Post race

I had my yogurt and coffee for breakfast, along with a bananna. We checked out of the Rose Loe motel (clean and servicable, but nothing to write home about). Howeverm the convenience store/deli right up the road has an amazing selection of Belgian beer.....Belgian beer in the hinterlands of Virginia....How cool!!!
It was actually a little chilly and I paced about wishng I had brought a long-sleeved shirt. I got marked and chipped and set up my TA. The site is really compactly laid-out and convenient to set up. The lake water was a little warmer than the air early on, and it was pretty cool to watch the little whisps of steam rise up off the lake.
I got to chat a bit with a few folks I know from other races, including a guy who is moving from MTB racing to tris. I got suited up and paddled around in the lake a bit.
