Subject: TDF Bike Challenge Week 1 results

Hi,

Here are the team by team results and happenings from week 1 of the challenge... just in time for the weekend to get you motivated to keep riding through the weekend...

Dont forget to keep leaving inspires for your team and staying in touch through your teams logs.. staying motivated is the key to YOUR TEAM coming out on top!!!

Team by team... here we go...

Agritubel: 53%

This team is into transport of the two wheeled kind both pedal power and motor power… they also have some lovely looking, umm, rides with picture of people and bikes a key part of  the team introductions.

Owl_girl has sunk her talons into the team… whether that’s a threat, a term of endearment or both I’m yet to work out.

Barloworld: 35%

After recruiting outside help to set up a team table they were up and riding/chatting/riding…

To keep the team on track Rstocks3 is offering support for his team mates T.I.T.S while TriAya is offering a positive attitude while lastcall2003 provides motivation pictures to keep everyone on track.

Caisse D’Epargne: 43%

First challenge was pronouncing the team name… but once those details were sorted they were out riding as fast as can.

Want the proof? Scroll through the team thread…no long posts just short comments so they can spend more time out on their bikes… be afraid, be very afraid.

Team Columbia: 43%

After declaring to the Chipotle team they are fueling their riding with Haute cuisine Team Columbia set down to the complicated task of who would compete for which jerseys in the competition… as far as I can tell krazylegs is after dots and peto_primo wants the yellow and team leader/strategist is Shoeless.

Credit Agricole: 45%

Umm…well… for the second year in a row this team is all about the cheese.. in fact green cheese if their siglines are to be believed (ummm yummy?)

They are also home to genuine French speaker Nats and lovers of chocolate… not sure about the chocolate and cheese combination…

CSC – Saxo Bank: 30%

This team could just about be called me an my boys… although they might not like that!

They kindly rallied together to not just get in some miles but also to show off some VERY impressive pairs of legs… well they made this girl happy! (Team thread page 6)

Euskaltel-Euskadi: 45%

They call themselves ‘Team Orange’ which seems to cover everything from the team jersey to what seems to be the suggested team drink of Orangina and Fanta.

Watching the action on the roads in France made BbMoozers thighs ache while pipscweek has found another source of information…

Garmin Chipotle: 40%

Their team mascot is edible… Enders_shadow will no doubt have to sample hers with wine however as she went off on a wine holiday last week. ‘The Geez’ put in his order while the rest of the team headed out for a ride.

They offered their mascot around to the other teams too…. Not sure whether you are meant to eat a team mascot?

Lampre: 39%

Being an Italian team sparco is leading the charge to try and learn one new Italian word every day while Mila taught the team that the key to a pretty bike is in the accessories.

With that combination this team is all about the ‘rosa’

Quickstep: 30%

They may not have Boonen in France but they do in this team in the form of Quickstep fanatic 4everblue.

Coach Troy made a (welcome) appearance, as well as bent sprockets, wall like hills and riding in the rain. (oh and girls can I recommend about half way down page 4 of the team thread – you can thank me later)

Rabobank: 23%

Almost immediately the team was cheering barqhead on her rides as one by one the team members introduced themselves.

Getting down to business the team kicked up the road grim into their competitors faces while Cadmus took on their very first race

Saunier Duval: 64%

Dalessit got made team captain and presented with his very own tiara which he is wearing with pride while he runs around trying to achieve two goals: 1) keep the team spreadsheet up to date and 2) stir up trouble on the other team threads (both admirably done too)

Silence Lotto: 27%

With their very own Aussie on the team they are trying to master the lingo/food which includes talk of g’day, fair dinkum, shrimps, barbies and of course meat pies. (great in the middle of winter)

This weekend KathyG is taking on her first IM and Im sure all of her team will be wishing her well.
