Does anyone have a aero bar(s) that they recommend?  I have been looking into getting a set but there are many kinds and I don't want to gamble and then find they don't feel good.  What are the differences between the ones that are closed at the top and those that aren't, is it just preference?

I like them because they are very adjustable.

I put a set of vision clip ons for sale in the classified because I couldn't get used to the straighter type bar. That is supposed to be a faster setup but I went back to my syntace that are more like an L and they take the pressure off my wrists.
Just like all this bike stuff you gotta try it and decide. What works for one may not for another.

Yep my two Bob's worth, the Profile Carbon Stryke aerobars are my preference for a couple of reasons but the main one is that you can set them up on length out, up and down, and twist left or right so you can get them exactly right, the only hang up I had was that the bars on my bike are a bit thinner in diameter than the spacers provided so I had to get some custom spacers made up but well  worth the effort.  Have a look at Ebay too you can get them alot cheaper than retail especially over here in OZ. As far as closed in ones, no Idea, I was going to go that way but didn't someone else might be able to shed some light on that?

cheers MH

I like my PD jammers.... allows aero position on roadie but without stretching me way out and causing issues.

What works for one will not for another. My first setup was  the much-ballyhood Syntace Stratos basebar with C2 clipons but the ski bends actually bothered my wrists, making it feel too unnatural, so I tried and really like Oval Concepts A701 Laminar setup (with a claimed 1,209,600 available incremental adjustmentsA701 Laminar Aero Bar Complete 3-4 LR_340x350.jpg  with s-bend extensions that are much more comfortable for me.

I bought a pair of used Profile Design GT Jammers from another member of this forum, and so far...I'm really happy with them. They are a shorter bar with an L-bend...so they are a good fit for my often-sore wrists...and I don't feel too stretched on them. They are described as being more of a road-riding aerobar than a racing/TT aerobar...but I really don't see the harm in using them in triathlons. They seem to me like they'll get the job done.

Does anyone know if Aero Bars will work on a Hybrid style bike?

My current bike is a Trek FX 7.2

link to bike:  [url]http://www.trekbikes.com/us/en/bikes/bike_path/fx/72fx/

(copy/paste that URL, I cannot figure out how to make it work on these forums)

If anyone has any experience with these aero bars, especially on a hybrid bike, especially especially on my model hybrid bike...I'd really appreciate the assistance.

Thanks,

Todd
