Yup, that plan's been a long time coming. It' just the beginning too. If they can dupe the fools convince the savy businesspeople into it, the plan is to develop old Williams Field into another Sky Harbor aka the "Phoenix-Mesa Gateway". And all the business and commerce that magically goes with a commercial airport will appear. Not sure how they plan to get people to buy on to that concept with the current state of the airline industry, but who am I to question our wonderful and talented City administration. (that was just in case the bosses are listening)

Bottom line, expect the construction traffic around that area to go from now till '09 (3009 that is)

In the good news section, however they probably WON'T be constructing around the Pecos - South Mountain loop any time soon. http://www.ahwatukee.com/news/freeway_4214___article.html/south_meeting.html
Apparently South Mtn has been declared sacred by the Gila River tribe. They should be arguing over that route for another 20 years or so.
