Subject: Michelin Pro 3 Race 700 x 20 don't exist?
Was thinking of going with the Pro Race 3s next season.  I run the pro race 2s now, but like the 20c size, especially on the rear as the 23s tend to rub against my frame.  Michelin list 700 x 20s on their site but I cannot find them for sale in any size but 23s anywhere. Anyone got the poop on this?  :-)

Well, if you listen to the pundits, there is no reason to run 20's in the first place.

Which is probably why Michelin doesn't make them (to my knowledge).

Conti does make them in some models.

What's their logic?  I was able to get the smaller size in the pro 2s.

What frame is this that rubs with 23s?

01 trek team tt (http://www.trifuel.com/Detailed/USPS_Team_Time_Trial-475.php )

It rubs when I put a Renn 575 disc on the rear.

Some research suggests that the 23's have lower rolling resistance than the smaller sizes, and that the rolling resistance is a more relevant factor overall than the aerodynamics of the slightly wider tire.

I have been loooking for the same, I run the smaller on the front 23 on rear as suggested by HED, Zipp reccomends 21's for their clinchers

I've heard sources say that Michelin Pro 3's will be rolling out other widths in the near future; they started with 23's because of the demand, like Rick has said, and just like it took a few months to get the coloured tires out to distributors, the smaller sizes will be coming, but, according to what I've heard, only as small as 20's.

I was going to comment that some wheels were engineered to run a narrower tire - I'm thinking specifically the HED/Specialized trispoke, which was actually designed around an 18c tire width; HED's recommendation is to maximize the aerodynamic effect, even when offset by the decreased rolling resistance of a narrower tire, and suggest running no bigger than a 20 to see these benefits.

Oh, and don't forget that red tires of any width will save you at least 30 seconds/10K no matter what speed you are travelling.

Ah, I was wondering why they invented red tires....
