When we got typhoid shots, it apparently wasn't quite dead. About 3/4 of the people who got shots the same day as me ended up in the ER, as did I, with 102+ fevers, swollen arms, could barely move, etc. It was a royally sucky few days.

That's probably not the typhoid.  It would more likely be something that people were reacting to and mounting an immune response.

Nah, they came back later and told us, "Oops. It was still live..." That sucked!
