Justin - what bad luck with the flats. Did you get it all fixed again? Karen, Thanks for the sympathy. I took it back the the Local Bike Shop on Sunday and they put in two new tubes, shifted the tape rim strip in the front, and put a cloth rim strip in the rear wheel. Hopefully I'm good to go. If not, I may be calling a friend for a car ride, after the first flat, before going through that again... Justin Edited by activejustin 2009-07-20 1:22 PM |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Justin had an amazingly good attitude yesterday. I've never seen one person have three flats before. Unfortunately I can't make it tomorrow, Kristen has to work late. Fortunately, this gives me more time to work with Jack on riding his two wheeler sans training wheels. We're hoping he's got it mastered by the weekend. |

Just like you said on your other post, the weather and company were awesome. Thanks for your help with the multiple tube changes and patience. After airing up one of the blown tires, it was obvious from the leak that it was caused by the rim strip and not our tire change abilities. Hopefully you can make the ride next week, unless you are off swimming in the lake with your other tri club. Maybe Jack can ride with us, if everything goes ok without the training wheels... See you at the run on Saturday. Justin Edited by activejustin 2009-07-20 6:09 PM |

Note: do not buy a Ford Ranger, Taurus, or Explorer, every time my family has owned one of these vehicles the transmission has had to be replaced That's interesting. I had a Ford Explorer and the transmisssion went bad too. However, I towed a boat for about ten years and it did not have a towing package and it had 235,000 miles on it when the transmission died. I gave them a gimme on it since I replaced it with a Mazda where the clutch went out after 45,000 miles. And since I kind of hijacked the thread a bit.... I guess I won't make this week either. I think I will ride Columns where it is flat because of my back and meet you guys at Taco Macs afterward. Edited by nealphelps 2009-07-20 10:56 PM |
