I know this is not ideal, but is there any reason I can't or shouldn't do this?
While training specifics can be "theoretically" or "logically" ideal, it's impossible to know what's "actually" ideal or not for any given workout. With any "system" using fuzzy inputs and feedback, effected by lots of external variables, and producing fuzzy results, it's impossible to quantify whether any specific input is "ideal".
Having said that, I do 2x/day of the same sport all the time. I don't care if it's ideal or not. All I care about is meeting my volume goals, having fun, pushing hard efforts when I'm fresh (which hopefully is more and more often ), and going easy when I'm fatigued.
