Subject: Trek Equinox 7 vs Specialized Transition E5 Comp vs Felt S32
I'm having a hard time deciding on a tri bike. I am looking at the Trek Equinox 7 $1869, Specialized Transition E5 Comp $1450 and the Felt S32 $1400. I don't want to spend more than $1800 but I like all three. Any suggetions? Anyone have one of these bikes and willing to offer some feedback?

Thanks

I just got my Trek Equinox 7 (WSD) a few months ago and I love it!  I got a great deal on the 2008 model.  My speed definitely showed improvement over my road bike with aerobars by about 1-2 mph and my previous best race pace had been about 18 mph and I averaged about 20 mph in my first race with it.  I've had people with Cervelo's commenting on how hot it looks!!  Can't comment on the others, but I do love my Trek.

Have an 06 S32... love it. It's not a P3C Cervelo, but it's more bike than my meager 20-21mph is worthy of.

Personally, for a lower end tri bike, I'd go with the cheaper Felt (again) and buy a used set of race wheels / aero helmet.

Components are going to be comparable, geometry is similar, and all are aluminum.

FIT is the most important thing between the three bikes you mentioned (since they are similar otherwise) second is which one you like the most.

Consider Cervélo's P1, MSRP of $1,750.

I have an s-works transition E5. It is a very aggressive geometry, make sure you take it out for a ride. Personally I like it, very comfortable, can't tell the difference between this and any of my carbon bikes. That's also a good price.

I'm curious as to why you aren't considering the Cervelo P1.  It's a great bike at a great price.  Mostly Ultegra components.

If you haven't looked at one, I recommend that you include that in your list.

I guess it's because none of the local dealers carry Cervelo or they do not have much on the floor to look at. Thanks for the suggestion, I will check one out on line.
