I always thought it was a headless woman in a wetsuit floating on her back...but I was too lazy to ask. I'm glad someone did!

...cause all you can do is guess. Everytime I see it I stare at it like maybe I'll figure it out this time...lol

Thanks. I now see it too. I thought it was some marine animal doing a back flip

I always thought it was a canoe or similarly shaped boat that capsized.

I'm glad it wasn't just me. But it does look like something IN the water, not flying over the water. I kept thinking it was like some creature or craft creeping up on the shore about to attack. But once you find the bird, it's totally obvious. It's like one of those visual puzzles: is it a face or a vase? Is it a bird or a body or a boat or...?

I always thought it was some sort of an optical illusion. Somedays I could see the blue heron, somedays I couldn't.
