Champion![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() OK Possum...you said it, so someone has to do it: No matter how old she gets, she's still the hottest looking chick around. She's the only person who will put up with all my faults. She makes the best oatmeal-butterscotch cookies in the world. There's nobody else that I would do anything for. The kisses and "almost" tears I get when I bring home roses unexpectedly. Who else would stand around for 15 hours waiting for me to cross the finish line at IMLP? She's the reason our 2 kids are so smart (both graduated #1 in their class). She'll never see this post, but she knows I mean every word of it. There's more I'm sure...but to go on would just be redundant. She's my soul mate and I'm terrified of the day when she will finally have to leave me. |

Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() -I am never bored, I ALWAYS have a playmate, whether it's for a hike, a visit to a new bookstore, or someone to watch tv with -She's the only person I know who sees my faults as assets (well, she also thinks some of my assets are faults, but that's a diff thread) -She regularly sacrifices things she wants or needs for me, I got the more expensive road bike, I got a new winter jacket this year, we spent our Xmas money on stuff for me -She is the smartest person I know, has a crazy prestigous career, yet she is always interested in my work, and is proud of me -She is a great cuddler, a great spooner and a great spoonee! -She teaches me new things all the time and is patient when explaining this to me. -Helps me stay on top of my ADD and provides me with just the right ratio of structure to asskicking -has NEVER, in 5 years, not said "Thank you" when I make her dinner. A few times she has uttered, "Uh, that wasn;t my favorite..." But usually I practically get a standing ovation but max, I realize that both my list and yours are as much about the person as the state of marriage... so here's hoping everyone lucks out the way we have! |

Elite![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() not quite to the married stage, but close enough to comment: -Only person NOT to say I was crazy when I decided to start Tri training. -During her Vacation time, while visiting me, woke up at 7am to have breakfast on the table when I got back from my run -stays up until all hours of the night just to talk to me due to the 2 hour time difference. -Embraces my dorkyness and somehow finds it cute |

![]() | ![]() Anyone notice that these are all about the spouse, which is not exactly the same as "things I like about BEING MARRIED"? In my opinion it's better this way because the spouse is the most important part. Here goes. -She changed my life/altered my universe. The world has been different since the minute I found her and I remember that moment clear as a bell. It was 9 years ago this month. -"trips my trigger" all the time. -She has been my support system since my diagnosis with Celiac disease (digestive disorder). Goes way way way way out of her way to make meals that I can eat, even after I tell her not to bother. -does an incredible job with our kids, and is about to have our third. -puts up with all my crap. And still loves me. -has such a big heart and she speaks her mind. Usually to put me back on track when I get a little too cynical or compassionless. -her and my kids are the biggest reasons why I want to be healthy and in shape. -makes me feel important, she's always supportive and defending me. -funny and modest and cute as hell! |

Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() - Unwaivering love and support - Having a true best friend - Having 2 beautiful little girls(if they took after me it would just be sad) - Having an incredible mother to the above mentioned children - Having a confidant - Having a dinner companion - Having a training partner - Having a cheering section - Having a someone there to welcome me home - Raising children together - Knowing she is going to be by my side with whatever this very uncertain year brings for me |

This was actually a good reminder for me to tell him how much I appreciate and love him. Thanks for starting this thread. It was nice to see something positive about relationships for a change! |
