Subject: Garmin not always uploading

From time to time I have rides that will not upload to the site. When I try to go back and re-upload they show as being uploaded already, I check again and still doesn't work. It's happened 2-3 times in the last few weeks, and it's random workouts, most of them do upload.

The rides do upload to Strava so I'm pretty sure they aren't corrupted.

Forgot to add, it's a garmin Edge 500

Do have dates of those rides? We will see if they did upload, or partially, and what the problem was. A screenshot of them being marked as uploaded already will help.

We have looked into this but I have one more thing to confirm, did the 3/3 one upload to Strava successfully with all of the data?

If so, can you send us the, I believe, the TCX file for that?

Very strange, none of my 50+ mile rides will upload to BT or to to any Garmin website or Training center, but they all upload to Strava.

I'll keep investigating what's going on, but it appears to be on my end.

Does Strava have ALL of the data? We have confirmed that the unit you use has issues with longer rides and one of the critical data feilds gets stripped - and this is before it gets to BT, Garmin website. I am wondering if Strava has ALL the data?

As far as I know it does.

This is the ride I did yesterday and the distance and time match my Garmin.

Can't edit fit files and can't get it into a format I can edit in XML either

I have a Garmin 305. I've found that the more workouts in memory on the device the more trouble it has uploading, tending to crap out after only partially loading. you might try deleting workouts on your Garmin after they are uploaded and see if it works better.

Yeah there were only 2 workouts on it when I first saw the problem. Might need to try a full device wipe and start over, maybe something is corrupted and needs a good cleaning.

My appx 60 mile 3 hr ride uploaded this weekend, not sure why this one did and the other ones didn't.

Been reading up on this on Garmin forums and no fix from Garmin yet.
