Hello.

I have my first Tri in Delta on the 26th.

I'm looking for some advise from vetran Triathletes on how to make this simple and fast?

What works for you??

Thanks for your time.

I have found the fastest way out of the transitions is to be really fast and quick and get out in the shortest amount of time possible!

Hehe.  If you look at Youtube and search for "triathlon transitions" you'll find a bunch of different methods for transitions. Try laying everything out on the garage or living room floor, jog into the room (wet if you can) and try getting all the gear on. You'll see how fun it is to get a shirt on while you are wet, socks, helmet, gloves glasses etc then walk your bike away from your set up area. Stop. Now look to see if you have everything you wanted. And make sure you took your goggles off! Do the same thing with the T2. This is what I did for Delta (my 1st) and it helped. Watch others as they come and go and see how they set up their area. It is all experience but with time it will be seemless! Good luck on the race, I wanted to do it but was tricked into doing another race onthe same day!!

Pretty good tips so far, search here, youtube, slowtwitch, or just google and you'll find a TON of good tips. Not going to add much details but main points are:
*Practice before the event
*Have a standard list of stuff to bring

Chris you gave me good advice when you said to watch the transition area before my heat.  I got a lot of last minute tips watching other people. Did ya know you don't need to unclip and clip your race belt?  You can just leave it connected and pull it over your head! Who would a thought!

Yeah, I watch people a lot. Sometimes they are racing. Sometimes they are watching TV at home. Sometimes they are trying on a pair of pants. I do learn quite a bit while watching no matter what they are doing. Glad the watching people race paid off for you. If anyone wants a few pointers on how best to try on a pair of pants, let me know.

Do you start with your left or right leg?
