doing my first IM -

Tri shorts for the bike and run or do you change after the bike into running shorts?

and if you wear Tri shorts for the entire event, what is your preference in name brand?

Tri shorts all the way.  I never wanted to deal with the logistics of trying to change bottoms in the transition area.

All my tri shorts are Sugoi and I adore them.

Tri Shorts.

I wear Desoto.

No leg grippers (leg grippers suck!)... and no inseam up the crotch (when there is an inseam up the crotch, camel toe is produced.... except it's super camel toe because of the padding on both sides).

They also make them a nice length... which look good on my short legs. I hate my tri shorts to be too short or too long.

And I love them so much, I wear them for my long runs too.

Do what you do in training. Try different options and see what works for you.

I wore tri shorts whole day. I like Oomph! tri shorts with their distance pad in them. I buy the most expensive ones that have 5 pockets and loops for gels great for the run plus a build in race belt.

check out somerhing in the distance line up by 2xu.

they make some nice stuff, and their pads come down a bit further through the crotch so the seams are not right at the joint of your leg, very very nice for longer races.

Personal preference, clearly by the above posts.  I like Zoot Ultra's.  $100/pair.  Worth every penny.

Tri shorts the whole day.  Keep it simple.  Race in what you train in and are comfortable FOR YOU.  I like Desoto, CWX tri shorts and champion system shorts

I'm a total dork but I like my BT shorts.  The padding is perfect.  And they make me go faster.

Thanx everyone
I usually wear bike shorts for my long rides but I knew it would be a total pain to change.
Guess I am going to start wearing my Tri shorts on my rides from now on.

Just do not have a pair that is really comfortable - going to look at some of the above suggestions Laughing

OH! This is for an IM?

I changed into bike shorts in T1. I wanted to be comfortable the whole day. There was no way my butt would have held up on my saddle for 112 miles in tri shorts.
