Good job Sue.  I wasn't at all impressed with the organization/planning and thought the post race stuff was lame.  What did all the money go pay for?  I heard there were actaully a lot of problems at the bike dismount area where there were also Oly distance people trying to pass for their second lap...a bunch of accidents.  Looks like you had a good race though.  I think I'll skip this race next year.

Joel,

I think because I did the sprint there were fewer problems. By the time we got out of the water most of the congestion with the bikers was over. Also, doing one lap on the bumpy roads wasn't too bad, but I imagine two laps would have been tough. The run was so short I didn't notice that it was boring. I think this is a decent sprint race, but I probably wouldn't do the olympic distance. I agree that the post race food was lacking.

Sue,
Congratulations on a great race!  That's awesome to get a new PR in the 5K (during a tri) - way to learn from your last tri, and stay well hydrated for your run!

Pesky wetsuit, 'eh?  My brother-in-law uses Body Glide, although I see a lot of people write about using plain old Pam.

Don't worry about your speed - you're doing great!

Congrats on the race!  Way to hit a pr in the 5k.

It is a shame more of us BTers did not arrange a get together of some sort.  However, maybe I will see you in Perryville at Diamond in the Rough.

Keep up the hard work!  And, go gear goddess go!

That's OK. I think another local, Joel (TH3-FRB) is doing that race. He also did the Hampton race, olympic distance.
