So who knows when this next round of gas increases is going to stop. I filled up last week for 2.36 and not its 2.42. I can't wait till Friday when I have to goto NJ and get some 2.15.
What does everyone else do with gas prices. I know I'm getting ready to start biking to work because it is almost cheaper to get a train ticket to work. I only work a 20 minutes drive from home. Its about 10 mi I guess.

We're in the market for a new vehicle, and I think we are almost completely for sure going with either a hybrid or a diesel. They're more expensive (at least in Canada), but the gas savings will more than make up for it.

If I could ride to work, I would in a heartbeat. It's just not an option (I cross an international border every day).

Lately I've been riding my motorcycle a lot rather than drive my Avalanche. Gas is 2.30+ around here right now. Today I rode the bicycle. Even cheaper!

In Montreal right now the price is $1.03 a litre. Which works out to about $3.91 CDN a U.S. gallon which is about $3.25 USD. So it sounds to me like you guys are getting off cheap. I am glad I don't own one of those big SUV's with the 60 litre tanks that needs filling up twice a week.

Gasoline is getting to be almost as expensive as bottled water.

I think I saw a sign that said $2.21/gal yesterday while I was out running.  I haven't filled my pickup since last Friday - boy it's nice being able to bike to work each day...

i don't drive, but my husband does. he has been biking to work as much as possible. of course, now we have a smog warning and people are supposed to avoid heavy activity outside for the next few days (including the day of my next tri. great.). so, he drove today...which is a total catch 22. the pollution is mostly from cars, and then the air is so awful you have to drive? there's something seriously wrong with that.

I drive a diesel - a VW Golf TDI. I have a program in my Palm Pilot that keeps track of my gas mileage and will average all tanks, etc. For the 2 years that I've had my car, I'm getting (on average) 43.98 mpg. It's great. Diesel can be a little more expensive, but it's not so bad when I'm only filling up every 2 weeks. If anyone's considering one, I highly recommend them. The VWs are great!

Ahh a fellow Lawnguylander!

I feel your pain, espically since Im out on the east end (cheapest regular was 2.50/gal). Im hitting the bike as well, its not that bad. But on Long island the Bicycle Commuters stick out like a sore thumb, but who cares I guess?

Cheers!
