Subject: RE: These Aero bars ok?PD Century Bars! I had these on my first road bike and put them on my current road bike when the other aero bars broke. Cons: You have to move your hands to shift. Pros: Lots of positions available. Pulled back, wrists up holding the lower part of the diamond. More forward, wrists down holding the upper part of the diamond. Way forward, hands over the top of the diamond. To put bar-end shifters on the separate aerobars, you'll move away from the integrated shifters so simple brake levers. (You could use the brake function of your existing integrated levers still). Bar-ends are about $100 and it's probably that much (or more) in labor to run new cables and tune-up the shifting. |
