I must be missing something.  All this time I've been here and I still don't see an easy way to search BT for a specific user.  If you go to user search, all it does is give you the opportunity to search by country.  WTF is that?  What it really needs is the option to type in a user's BT name and then go right to him/her.  I'd like to leave an inspire for somone who just had a great race, but the only way I know to do it is temporarily put them in my inspire list.  Seems like a convoluted way to find another BT-er!

Can someone tell me an easier way to do it?  Maybe it's there and senility is just sinking in on my part!

I always thought I was just too "slow" to figure it out. Thanks for the question.

You're right Max, I think this is the only way to do it.

You could do a 'forum search' for posts they've made, then click on 'logs' from that post, but still a lot of trouble.

You do get city, state or province should they have it listed in their profile. 

BUT if you are doing it by name only, the best way to do it is to, yes, choose them from the inspire list.

OR use this page http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/statistics/user-listing.asp and narrow down by page number alphabetically (via 'go to page#' at bottom)

I guess a good modification to the above page is having an alphabet link at the bottom so one doesn't have to 'jump to' several tens of pages.

Sorry, no easier way.

OK thanks...I just wanted to send each of the BT-ers who completed IMFL an inspire.  Doing it to a couple is no big deal, but adding 20+ to my inspire list, then deleting them...well I guess if thats the way I have to do it...

I've been thinking of that for a long time.  How hard would it be to have a search by user name.  The other way i've done it is play the six degrees of kevin bacon game and look for them on someone elses inspires list.

If I understand correctly, it's purposefully left that way to maintain a little bit of privacy and anonymity.  Sure, you can find people if you really want to, but you have to make an effort.

Well I wish they'd come up with something better because whenever I want to contact comet I have the hardest time finding one of her posts in a thread.  That girl is hard to find!
