Subject: RE: Disney World suggestions - Running routes and off-site restaurantsWe used to stay at Fort Wilderness when the kids were young. Lots of wooded trails and not a lot of traffic. As I recall, there's one big loop that encircles the campsite areas. (I'm sure you know that early morning is the coolest tiime of the day here in FL and best for running. Here in Sarasota we benefit from the breeze off the Gulf. Inland in Orlando it can get broiling hot in the afternoon and into the evening.) Haven't been to Orlando lately, except on business, so not sure what to recommend as far as non-Disney restaurants. I always liked Race Rock on International Drive, but it closed down about a year ago. How soon are you going? My brother and his family are coming down next week and staying at the Grand Floridian. They are very into everything Disney, plus my brother is a runner. I can debrief them when they stop by Sarasota next weekend. Mark |
