Subject: Purchasing HED H3s. Do I need new skewers?

Or can I use the skewers from the Shimano RS10 wheels that are already on the bike?

What else do I need to buy?  I am purchasing

-  HED Clinchers

-  Mich Pro Racer II tires  700x23

-  Tube  700x23

I am confused if I need anything else.

I'd second the suggestion about getting another cassette.

I have skewers for all my wheels; they're not too expensive and it makes it easier/faster to swap out wheels.   Plus I seem to have the knack for dropping and losing the springs when I take the skewer off a wheel...

as Jeepfleeb said....the crack pipe is key. I'd get a couple, as mine gets running away and hiding. You might want to get the scewers that say HED on them....for the bling factor.

That or drop $150 on some titanium ones with carbon fiber levers.

I see people refer to the crack pipe pump.  What is it called or where can I find one.  Does anyone know if BicycleDoctorUSA sell them?  Nashbar?  Performance?\

Thanks for the help.

Crack pipe is not a pump, but an adapter that fits in the head of your existing pump:

I purchased a Joe Blow Pro Pump.  I also will use 36mm stems.  My understanding is that this will allow me to pump up the tire.  Thanks for all the help

Alternatively, there's an adapter you can buy for an existing pump that lasts longer than the crack pipes. You have to replace the hose & the pump head, but it's worth it imo. I don't know the name offhand though, sorry.

Lasts longer? I've never had an adapter wear out...

Silca makes the crack pipe. They seem to be elusive creatures in my part of the world. I'm waiting for mine, in the mean time I am using one of these from Topeak http://www.topeak.com/products/Floor-Pumps/PrestaValveExtender

If your buying the HED's through the HED store it comes with skewers.  As for the crack pipe I bought the smart head upgrade kit.  You attach it your your regular floor pump and it's a heck of a lot easier than the crack pipe.  It will only cost you a few bucks more than the pipe.
